Excellent meal, friendly waitress (Kelsey) and very good service. The portions were very good and the birthday cake was perfect. I would recommend Matthew's 1600.

My husband and I went to Matthew's on New Years Eve. They had a 'special' menu. He had the NY Strip Steak and I had Surf and Turf. Both the Filet and Strip Steak were like butter. Excellent. Waitress was attentive just the right amount. Had a lovely time. Sat at a booth in the bar area.

This restaurant looks nice and feels quite homey with pick a tablecloth and place settings and lots of wood in the interior. The menu has pretty standard items like sandwiches, burger, some steaks and crab cakes. I ordered chicken Parmesan, only to be told they didn't serve that anymore. The waiter dropped a glass of water on one of my... More

We have dined for lunch a number of times at Matthew's 1600 when in the Catonsville area. Each time we have enjoyed the lunch time specials that include a delicious quiche dish or an over stuffed sandwich (plus other choices from soups to main dinners). Today the special sandwich was roasted beef, zesty dressing, onion ring and bacon that came... More

I met some folks on a Thursday night for dinner. We were in the dining room around the bar in the middle. Dinner conversation was done by screaming at each other across the table. It was so loud it was not pleasant. Food was ok. A bit over priced. Don't go out of your way. But if you want a... More

While I have driven by this place at least a 100 times, Saturday night was the first time I ate there. We were meeting friends for dinner at 6 and at 5 I thought I should make reservations. There are two choices the dining room or the bar. I asked for the dining room and they took about five minutes... More

On May 11, 2013 my husband and I visited the Resturant at about 5:30p and asked the host if she could fit us in without a reservation. She said sure follow me, we were seated and surprised that it wasn't that busy. After waiting 10mins without anyone taking our drink order, my husband asked me why is it taking so... More

I've eaten in the restaurant dining room side of Matthew's 1600 several times, and it's a nice place for dinner.* The food was good, and the room was pretty, but the service was just average. I'd eat there again, but I wouldn't rush back. But more recently, I've eaten in Matthew's bar with friends a number of times. The bar... More
