Lunch with friends

Our monthly lunch group met at Matthew's 1600. Our reserved tables were ready when we arrived. We did not all arrive at once but our server took drink orders as folks arrived. Several of my colleagues ordered their "box" lunch and enjoyed it very much. It is indeed served in a wooden sectioned... read more

We regularly dine in Catonsville and finally decided to try Matthew's with 4 friends since it had (mostly) good reviews. Our party of 6 arrived for a 7 pm reservation and we'd already prepared for the mandatory 18% tip for a party over 4 and 2 of the 3 couples brought cash since they won't split up a check and... We attended a party in honor of one who passed. We had been here before and were not disappointed either time. The service was excellent and the food was great. The party was prepared for 50 and was done very well. When we were there before we had lobster and it was prepared perfectly. I would highly recommend this place... More

I have absolutely no complaints about this restaurant. I called last minute for a Valentines Day dinner reservation, we were seated right away, the cocktails, dinner and desert were absolutely delicious!! We will be back often!!!

My husband and I have eaten here several times, we usually come here after a flight at the airport nearby. Last night we went again and we will not be back. The restaurant does have a gluten free menu, which is a good thing but did not have gluten free soy sauce to go w/the Ahi tuna that I ordered.... More

Had a few meals at this restaurant near Baltimore and have never been disappointed. The food is prepared well and served properly and the menu has a nice variety. Although in a semi rural area, Matthews tries to present an upscale atmosphere-- not exactly posh, but better than the average side of the road eatery. Price range is from the... More

First time visit, for the wife and I. She had the Beaumont and I the Chicken Alfredo. Both meals were simply OUTSTANDING! We shared an apple "something or other" with ice cream for dessert...that too was awesome. Our visit was mid to late afternoon on a Monday; not too busy at the time - plenty of parking - our server... More

We recently dined here with friends who live nearby, we were in town for a book event and they recommended Matthew's 1600. We arrived and saw the parking lot pack, which is a good thing, but I was worried about waiting to be seated. We were seated immediately. Our server was excellent, and the food is amazing! This location is... More

Matthew's 1600 in Catonsville is a pretty, contemporary restaurant. It has lots of wood and muted colors and an atmosphere that is inviting. The food is expensive but the sandwiches we had were good even thought part of the order was wrong. We ordered Shrimp salad on white bread with chips and Pot roast melt with fries. The shrimp salad... More

We were here for a wake, following a memorial for a baby our friends lost. The crew here were courteous and kind, very attentive. The food was delicious and the banquet area was separated from the main bar vicinity. It was a nice place to visit and dine.
