Pub food

We were lured by the Irish pub description, and the interior does have some interesting features like a painted tin ceiling. Dark atmosphere if you like that. As other reviewers said, hardly anyone else in the place. Husband had cottage pie which was quite good. I had crab cake sandwich... read more

Do *NIOT* waste your time here. The food is "decent" but grossly overpriced, as are the drinks, as well. The dining area is dark & dingy, (no doubt to make it difficult to see how skimpy the portions are). The "manager" also doubles as the "waitress" and the "chef" (and I use that term *verrrrry* loosely) is apparently the owner... More

I've lived in Cambridge for 32 years and have never had such horrible service. There was only 2 tables that night besides a party in the back. The 2 tables in front were treated like crap. It took our table 15 minutes to get drinks and another 30 mins to get just one of our appetizers. Just as we decided... More

the cream of Crab soup is excellent best I've ever had made fresh daily too! My husband had banger and mashed which he says was very good. We went at lunch on a Saturday and had the place almost to ourselves. Can't wait to go back!!

Never had a good meal here. Meat pie hardly had any meat in it and what was in it was full of gristle.

My husband and I have been patrons of the Canvasback for years and just love it. Last night I had the burger, outstanding! My husband chose the French dip with au jus on the side. He said it was the best he has ever had. Sandy, chef, waitress and greeter last night suggested I try a new ale, very tasty!... More

Went to listen to a friend play on a Friday night, my finance and I split a burger, which was surprisingly good. However, it only came with a side of slaw, which was good, however, we had to order a side of fries. It would be a better option to serve with a side a chips and then offer the... More

The Cream of Crab Soup was the best I have ever had in my life. I loved the romantic atmosphere. I loved the Pub area because it make me very Comfortable. The dinning room so beautiful and makes you feel special and great for taking friends out for a special dinner to kind of show off. The service was great... More

My husband and I went to Cavasback two nights ago. We had seen the menu online and were going to Cambridge so we decided to try it. We were very warmly greeted and chose to eat outside. We found out that there was no dinner menu only a pub menu. After looking it over we were very happy with the... More

Go for casual, pub-style food. Wide selection, reasonable prices, good portions, cooked fresh while you wait. Good pub decor. The dinner menu is limited, and somewhat on the pricey side.Tasty, freshly cooked , and ample portions, just a little pricey. Staff always friendly and efficient. Good selection of beers.
