Under new management and very disappointing. A sad day for old Stoney's lovers.

I have been going to Stoney's for at least 30 years and have been a devotee since the day that I discovered it. I have taken dozens of people there, and have told hundreds more about their one time world's best crab cake. I was there the day the Washington Post had a contest and declared Stoney's... read more

Had a great midweek lunch of crabs and shrimp, with cold beer, today at Stoney's Broomes Island. The service was excellent and attentive. Went there by boat -- they have many, many places to tie up, protected too as they're just in from the Patuxent on Island Creek. Finished off lunch with a strawberry shortcake, a Stoney's dessert I've been... More

Great restaurant, great view and they were very accommodating and cooked the food separately because of my severe seafood allergy.

If you want crabs and beer with a great view, this is your place. Great drinks and bar. But the rest of the food is awful, and its been that way for years. Would love to see someone like the Ruddy Duck come in and take over this location with more food options!

I discovered Stoney's a couple of years, and just like MJS658, we would make a 100 miles one way trip for their famous crab cakes. And yes, we were there yesterday too for the boat docking contest, which was fun but the food overall was not as overwhelmingly great as it used to be. We got there way before opening,... More

I haven't eaten here, but it has been the destination of our group motorcycle rides. Stoney's Seafood House is an out-of-the-way, quaint and scenic destination.

First, the service was lousy and we were the only table! The appetizers were served, without plates. Then, half of the appetizers were raw and needed to be sent back. Six meals were delivered together, but two of our group didn't get their food until everyone else was finished eating. The bill was almost$600.00 and I couldn't believe that our... More

It's a nice atmosphere, and they have good crab cakes and decent fish, but you definitely pay a premium for the location on the Solomon's 'strip'.

One of my great memories was having a wonderful seafood dinner at Stoney's twenty plus years ago with my then fiance, parents and my grandparents. This place is nowhere near what it once was. The food was/is overpriced; the oysters and fries left a pool of grease at the bottom of the basket. My wife's cream of crab soup seamed... More

I stopped in with friends on Labor Day mid-afternoon for a late lunch. I asked the server whether to order the crab cakes or crab imperial. I got a non-answer response. I asked her what the crab cakes were made with. She gave me a puzzled look. I asked "What type of filler is used - mayo, Old Bay, something... More
