I totally love the food and the great prices. I have never had anything but a super dinner there and I have tried almost everything on the menu. I would rather have a steak or seafood there any day over Ruth Chris or Phillips seafood. It tastes better and is half the price! Just cant say enough great things about... More

Good food and reasonable prices mark this Bowie restaurant. Attached to a liquor store and deli, Rips has been providing local seafood (including excellent crabcakes), plus a full range of sandwiches, full meals and salads for decades. It also has a popular and recently upgrade bar area.

I've only eaten at the restaurant part of Rip's twice - both times were Sunday brunch buffet. The food was very good, the wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the cost was reasonable. It's the sort of place where you feel right at home. But when you're done eating, check out the other end of the building where they... More

I go here every week for Breakfast or lunch. The food and service is great. They are very welcoming and bend over backwards to make your meal and experience a satisfying onw. I've been eating here for years and I am always pleased with every visit.

I went here with friends who go all the time and they gave it high marks. I'll have to agree, it was nice. Sunday for brunch was a good choice. The buffet was appointed with a wonderful selection of choices to accommodate everyone. It wasn't long before this restaurant was just about full with appreciative customers. If I get back... More

Went here for Breakfast. We ordered Eggs Montoya which is two poached eggs on steak with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were hard boiled with solid yolks. The waitress brought us more eggs that were cooked the same. The eggs she brought came out in little ceramic dishes right from the microwave. Apparently the eggs are not poached as the menu... More

As an egg lover, I certainly understand the frustration and thank you for sharing. Poaching an egg is a delicate process and does cause us difficultly. We must balance the simmering of the egg with the health risks of under cooked eggs and salmonella. I know it is old thinking but we always stand on the side of precaution. I... More

While visiting the area for lunch, our friend picked this spot to meet up. We'd never ate here before but the food and service were both nice. The menu had a variety to choose from for adults and our son.

At least once a year, I visit Rip's with a bunch of friends. The location is convenient, near the junction of Routes 50 and 301. It seldom changes; rustic interior, good service, fine food- a great place for a good time. One change this year to note; an excellent, attentive new host. Everyone in my party raved about the food... More

Heading back to NY, friends and I stopped for their Brunch which was okay. They had a decent selection of foods which was quite tasty. I lived in the DMV for over 15 years and this was my first time here, so that was a nice treat. The price was $15.99 per person which I thought to be reasonable. The... More

Thank you for your kind words. I will certainly share them with the staff. Next time you are in the neighborhood, please stop in for our comfort food. Between Breakfast, lunch and dinner it is difficult to pick a favorite but I am sure we will not disappoint. More

This restaurant has the feel of an old family run hangout with lots of local regulars. Chicken fried steaks, and meat loaf grace the menu. Don't expect anything fancy, just classic dishes prepared the old-fashioned way with no frills and fuss. The food is quite acceptable and value priced.
