Still feeling the love!

First time back in a year - and we are just as thrilled as last time. Food: amazing. Service: amazing. Why don't we come here more? Need to work on that. To all the nay sayers - look past the plastic chairs tables etc: this place is an experience and it's great! Large portions - I had enough got... read more

Heard great things about this restaurant and was excited to get a reservation for my birthday. Unfortunately the evening was more of a miss than a hit.. I was prepared for the mismatched plastic table cloths and the white plastic lawn chairs, but not for the fact that there was no written menu. All conversation in the room had to... More

This is by far the best restraurant we visited in our 5 day stay. Little, different and very eccentric but the food and staff, from the waitresses to the cook to the neighborhood baker made this place the place to go. The menu changes every day, therefore the two ladies who served us verbally gave us the menu. You had... More

Had heard about this place from friends for a long time and finally went. Wow, what I've been missing! While it's true that the atmosphere isn't exactly posh, the food is downright superb. Our waiter Patrick was truly passionate about the dishes as he described them and provided us excellent service. There is seating in the front and in the... More

Apparently Charles O. might be an experienced chef, but he didn't pass English or Spelling 101. Anyway, if you are looking for a truly fun and delicious dining experience in an eclectic atmosphere, this is the place for 'special' dinners. Yes it looks like a bait shop, yes the plates don't match, and yes it only takes cash.

We went to this place with some friends recently. We heard about how great the food is and you have to wait to get in this place bla, bla bla. It was a disaster. I ordered the gunbo. Huge mistake!!! I've never heard of gumbo with beans in it. I a retired chef and restaurateur who was trained in New... More

We went to the Grove Market during OC Bikeweek with good friends. Called 2 weeks in advance for reservations and heard back from them about 5 days later. Our luck they had availability for the day we wanted. We had been here before so we knew what to expect. This is not your run of the mill average restaurant. Its... More

Went with my husband and friends for the first and was just as advertised. Server was amazing at describing the menu and giving descriptions and options. Atmosphere was unique but we knew what to expect. Food was fresh and the potions were big. They were very accommodating with getting reservation will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend to anyone in the... More

In my research for a restaurant for dinner I read many reviews about this place and after eating there i can honesly say the reviews didn't lie. from acquiring the reservation ( be patient ), pulling up to a non descript building, having the waitress recite all of the menu... Went to the Grove Market after hearing lots of great reviews. The "Grove" lived up to its expectations the night we went. Unique dishes served by very competent servers in an unusual setting. I highly recommend the duck and the scallop dishes. Make sure to leave room for the bumbleberry pie. Cash only -- no credit cards. Can't wait to... More
