Better than expected

We ate at Guapo's while stayoimng at the Doubletree next door and were pleasantly surprised. We are from Arizona and like Arizona/New mexico style of Mexican food. TexMex is often disappointing, but the food at Guapo's was very good. We especially noted that the meat in our tacos and enchiladas was... read more

Like all restaurants in the area this one was quite over priced. Among the "decent" attempt at Mexican food it in my opinion is just an average restaurant. I got a taco plate that came with 3 Tacos, some rice and beans and of course they brought a basket of chips and salsa. I requested a salsa with a bit... More

Met a friend for lunch there and was first overwhelmed how beautiful the restaurant is and the food that was equally awesome. Price was even decent for the area. Had fajitas that were excellent. Beans are great balance. Rice was only OK, but that's the only potential negative. Service was excellent. Will definitely go there again.

And the service was excellent too. It was not heavy food but it was delicious and just what we wanted.

Don't order steak n shrimp fajitas. You pay $20 for (4) pcs of 2 1/2 x 1/4 inch steak strips with side orders. Awful! This was our first time at this place in Bethesda Friday @ 4pm no crowd. We went there because we were in the area and we couldn't wait to go to our usual Guapo place at... More

Excellent food and service. We were only in town for 4 days but this place was so good we ate dinner there twice. Need I say more? You will enjoy the food.

We ate here for a co-workers birthday and just loved everything, food, service, drinks and atmosphere. The guacamole was the bomb, we had 2 of those. Would certainly return again as it is only a hop, skip and jump from the office. Actually, several offices here are having holiday parties there, think I'll go with a few.

Last review was 4 stars. Food was far too salty, and portions were smaller. The fajita platter comes with a side order of guacamole, sour cream, salsa. The sour cream was barely a dollop and the guac was about half as much as on previous orders. Steak was cooked properly but was tough, and did I mention- too salty. Asked... More

We ate at Guapo's last night, ordering a "seafood" chimichanga and another, similar, "seafood" dish. The "seafood" was shrimp and "scallops." I put quotes around certain words because the "scallops" didn't look, taste or texture of scallops. Maybe they were synthetic, made from some other agglomeration of seafood? They were white lumps of untasty "stuff." The were not enough shrimps... More
