Very Good Steamed Blue Crabs

I was in DC on business as I am every couple years, and I'd been disappointed by sub par crabs earlier in the week. Visited this place last night and had a great crab meal. I'd give it five stars if they had bigger crabs, but that's not really their fault. They had a party of 25 in there that... read more

Old Bay-seasoned crabs, perfectly cooked you peel'em shrimp, and loaded crab cakes - the food is on display at this rustic local restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews, the wait staff are on their game and do their best to help those less experienced in the craft of eating blue claw crabs. Everything we tried was great, including the corn... More

You don't go here for fancy food and ambience...you go here for seafood. It is basic and down to earth with excellent service.the food was incredible. My crabcakes were full of crab and prepared perfectly. I even had corn on the cob which I never do. Great experience!

Ordering whole crab can be daunting. Don't be afraid. The crab experience was worth all the work and our very helpful waiter made it easy to ask for tips. We loved every bite. Also had the crabcakes. They were wonderful too! Can't wait to go back.

I am shocked by the negative reviews for this crab house. It is clear that some of the reviews were by individuals that do not understand the crab house tradition. Bethesda Crab House is one of the best in the Baltimore-Washington area and it is in the city so it is easy to reach!! A crab house is a place... More

The atmosphere is nothing special, but the food is absolutely exquisite. We had steamed shrimp, fried oysters, crabcake sandwiches, fresh corn on the cob and large spiced crabs. Mallets, ice cold beers with frozen mugs, drawn butter and several TV's added to the whole dining experience. A must for any visit to Maryland!

As long as you call ahead to order your crab and ensure that they are reserved for you, this place will become one of your favorites. A simple restaurant with newspaper for tablecloths and all the melted butter you could ever want to dip your crab in, the experience was a terrific adventure! The platter of crab (we ordered 15... We visited in early August and had a great time. My daughter (7) loves crab legs. We are usually a Joe's Crab Shack kind of family. But was happy here as well. They were out of the smaller crabs for the all you can eat special, but that was fine with us because I prefer larger crabs...more crab for the... More

I accompanied by my girlfriend and her daughter, wanted to have Maryland seafood on the 28th of August. We walked in a 6:25 PM and the place was empty, with the exception of 4 ladies seated at an outside wood bench eating crabs. There were approximately 6-7 other empty large benches outside, so we walked over to one of the benches... More
