I am shocked by the negative reviews for this crab house. It is clear that some of the reviews were by individuals that do not understand the crab house tradition. Bethesda Crab House is one of the best in the Baltimore-Washington area and it is in the city so it is easy to reach!! A crab house is a place... More

The atmosphere is nothing special, but the food is absolutely exquisite. We had steamed shrimp, fried oysters, crabcake sandwiches, fresh corn on the cob and large spiced crabs. Mallets, ice cold beers with frozen mugs, drawn butter and several TV's added to the whole dining experience. A must for any visit to Maryland!

As long as you call ahead to order your crab and ensure that they are reserved for you, this place will become one of your favorites. A simple restaurant with newspaper for tablecloths and all the melted butter you could ever want to dip your crab in, the experience was a terrific adventure! The platter of crab (we ordered 15... We visited in early August and had a great time. My daughter (7) loves crab legs. We are usually a Joe's Crab Shack kind of family. But was happy here as well. They were out of the smaller crabs for the all you can eat special, but that was fine with us because I prefer larger crabs...more crab for the... More

I accompanied by my girlfriend and her daughter, wanted to have Maryland seafood on the 28th of August. We walked in a 6:25 PM and the place was empty, with the exception of 4 ladies seated at an outside wood bench eating crabs. There were approximately 6-7 other empty large benches outside, so we walked over to one of the benches... More

Good fresh steamed crabs and cold beer..what a great way to spend a sunny afternoon...if you can pretend you are on the Eastern shore not behind a dumpster next to a car shop you can really enjoy yourself... Crabs were hot, spicy and tasty. Even though they were gulf not bay crabs they were delicious..the place is as tacky as... More

We were surprised by some of the negativity in the reviews. Yes, the decor is second rate minimal but that's what makes it crab proof (wooden mallets can be lethal to table tops). We did not find service slow at all - crabs were fresh and wonderfully spiced, the coleslaw and corn were well prepared and good quality. Great value... More

The first time in Bethesda for me was October 2013...I was looking for a place for a quick bite & stumbled on to Bethesda Cab House on the Net...I love crabs so I gave it a try...It was a short walk from the hotel I stayed in...So casual but so good! In the DC area on business and a group of 10 decided to go the crab house for all you can eat crab feast ($39.00). We were informed that they didn't have enough crabs for everyone for that all you can eat crabs. You could order off the menu for an order of 6 at an even more inflated price.... More
