Busy weekend seafood hotspot

This place styles itself as an oyster bar, & it is, just an atypical one. Very dark, hip, & mod inside, the interior of Black's is cleft along its length by a wall. I was seated at a small table on the bar side of the dining room. Most of the seating within view was either cocktail or communal in... read more

Looking for a quiet place to celebrate a recently announced achievement, my wife and I settled on a well regarded spot in Bethesda. We were seated in an open room near a table of 10 or so 20 somethings having a great time shouting back and forth and up and down the table. We asked to be moved to a... More

We stopped in for a quick happy hour before a flight. Great drinks and tasty fish tacos! Service was attentive as we were there before the after-work rush.

Super-busy, loud and energetic, this restaurant is not for those looking for a quiet, romantic date. If, however, you are looking for fresh seafood (oysters), good cocktails (try the mojitos) and do not mind having to speak in a loud voice, this place is for you. On nice nights, there is a great patio to dine on and there is... More

Super-popular weekend place for locals (especially during happy hour). We dropped by last-minute (don't do this) and had to sort of stand together near the bar. There was no room in the restaurant area. The staff was very nice, the mussels were fabulous, and the drinks were good too. We also sampled a pizza that was very crisp and well-decorated... More

Friday evening dinner on their porch. Entrees were simply terrific with great flavor. Also had oysters - wide selection and great taste. Server was top notch. Bonus - sound level on porch and in restaurant let us have a conversation! Great place with well deserved reputation.

Nice job on the duck, but sides and sauces didn't pair well. It just wasn't a coherent meal. And it was expensive. And the service was bad.

I had the best oysters in my life here. The duck nachos are awesome and they have great, hopping bar area. The wait staff is very attentive and the bar staff is friendly. I can't wait to go back to try something else on the menu.

Went here for drinks and ended up eating dinner. This follows true form of the Black's Restaurant industry in the area, first class and cater to the clientele. Their sea foods are some of the freshest I've had recently. I never liked mussels until I had theirs, now its a must.

We were introduced to this superb restaurant by our daughter and went for Sunday brunch. What is not to like when for $55 you can have unlimited fresh seafood and champagne. Best oysters we have ever eaten and no limit! in addition there is typical breakfast type food such as omelettes, bacon, sausages etc plus fruit. Burgers looked good swell!!... More
