Ordered a large take out order today and nothing was even remotely good. First time here and it was a big disappointment. Ordered 4 appetizers and 3 main dishes. Ordered mostly seafood dishes and they were all over cooked so much the shrimp/squid/muscles etc.. was like rubber. Requested "mild" seafood fried rice and it was so spicey hot that even... More

Downtown Bethesda restaurants are not cheap. Tara Thai is not cheap, but it's not expensive either. It's in a good middle range and, frankly, good value. The food is tasty and the service adequate. This is not a fancy restaurant but not a casual one either. It's just in between, I guess on all counts. We've gone back a few... More

We were going to go to another Thai restaurant in Bethesda and ended up at Tara Thai instead. The waiter was very nice, but a few errors were made: we ordered one of the items without shrimp, and it came with shrimp. This was fine in that I just gave the shrimp to my companion, but if I had an... More

We love Thai food and went to try Tara for the first time. We both ordered curry - two different kinds. Though I ordered vegetarian, the only thing in my curry was tofu - no vegetables! And the sauce was somewhat chunky rather than silky and smooth like curry should be. The other curry dish was ordered with beef and... More

Having just returned from Thailand I was looking for something authentic and everyone said Tara Thai was amazing. I found it overpriced and not worth what you pay for. The food wasn't even authentic. They have Chinese and Japanese options on the menu...

I've only been there for lunch, so that is what this review is about! Slow outdoor service but otherwise this is a great tasting lunch menu where Pad Thai is around $7.95. Highly recommend!

We ordered apps as soon as we sat down since someone was parking. Spring rolls were okay the chicken lettuce wraps needed a sauce, but did have a kick. Pad thai serving was huge, the shrimp dinners were very good, but highlight was Pad Pik King. Beans and Chicken were cooked perfectly-sauce was delicious if you like a spicy w/curry... More

The food is very good in my opinion. The service however is below standards. I have been twice and on my first visit i would have to find my waitress for more coke, napkins, etc. The atmosphere is nice, however the tables are very close together. I love Pad seeyu
