I planned lunch with a friend in downtown Bethesda for this past Saturday. She suggested Thai and so I did a little research to find the top-rated - my friend's a professional chef. Looking at Trip Advisor, Urban Spoon and Yelp I kept seeing the same restaurant at the top of the list - Bangkok Garden. So, that's where we... More

I am picky about thai restaurants as a DC resident I am spoiled with abundance of decent thai places to eat. But Bangkok Garden has the best menu so far I have come across. There is a large variety of items that are not usually on menu in many thai restaurants. Service was good and food tasted great. Will definitely... More

Went here for lunch. We ordered chicken cashew and crabmeat fried rice. Both dishes lacked flavor, it seemed like they were missing spices. We were the only diners in the restaurant--- not sure if thats a sign. I don't think we will be returning.

Lived in the area about ten years ago and was just back on business. Stopped here for lunch and the restaurant has been updated and nicely appointed. The menu remains true to Thai cuisine, and the Tom Yum Kai and drunken noodle has not changed in the years I have been away ... It remains phenomenal!

The lunches are indifferent here. However, if you go in the evening, and let the waiter know that you are comfortable with as much heat as they can put in your dishes ("make me cry ...") the chef will provide you with a memorable meal. Definitely worth exploring beyond the usual confines of green/red/Panang curries. Crispy catfish with green peppercorns... More

Nice Thai restaurant that also has a fair number of dishes that I'm more used to seeing on a Chinese menu. Friendly, efficient service. Has local and Thai/Chinese beers. With the more Chinese dishes, it has a wide range of vegetarian options, and it appears that the Thai curries could be veggie (though I didn't ask about whether they would... More

First thing first the place need a renovation especially the ceiling, tables and carpets look tired. That said the waitress was smiling and kind, not at all pushy to make us order too much. The chicken soup wasn't special, I mean not bad but not yummmie, usually one of my preferred Thai food. The chicken satè was ok but the... More

We dined here last night. We were first seated at a booth table that was much too tight a space, so we moved to a regular table in the back area, which was roomy but looked rather neglected. When the server took our order, one of us asked for a shrimp dish. The server apologized and said that they were... More

Food is good but you have to like spicy! Very tasty and those of us who like spicy really enjoyed it, but if you don't like spicy, you had better find dishes w/o any spice. Beware

Awesome Thai good but they have gotten so busy, service while dining in or for delivery could be a very long wait. They need to hire more people! I liked to get the sticky rice (or "sweet rice") instead of plain rice for meal. Excellent mango with sticky rice for dessert.
