Very good tapas restaurant

Jaleo is a really good tapas restaurant by Jose Andres. The gazpacho is to die for. Every single thing we have tried off the dinner menu has been very good. The brunch is pretty decent as well.

JUST AWESOME! This is one of our mainstay go to Tapas restaurants in the area. The way we order is through our wait staff recommendations of the evening. We ask for a veggie, fish, beef and chicken tapas dish and have them bring out THEIR favorites. It is a fun way to order and we get the tastiest tapas. Also... More

I organized a dinner for 25 at Jaleo in Bethesda; the group included several members with food issues. The chef came through with special versions of problem dishes, or substitute dishes; the wait staff were extraordinarily careful in serving, so not only did everyone get the right food, but everyone felt well-treated. The food was also delicious, of course! For... More

I dined at Jaleo while attending a conference in Bethesda with some fellow conference attendees. We ordered one of the tasting menu choices. Overall the tapas were delicious. It was disappointing that the tasting menu did not come with bread (it is really a travesty to not have bread to eat with jamon and manchego, they served little crackers shaped... More

We stopped going to Jaleo for a few years because we thought the food was greasy and the portions were small. But we started going back about a year ago and have enjoyed it very much. The interior is really well designed and the food is much better.

We spent a pheasant evening in pleasant surroundings. They need to Boost their menu though as it can get a bit monotonous after a few visits.

We were here for a large party after an event. It was a Monday and consequently endless paella night. To me, this was much nicer than mere tapas. I've always found the endless variety of confusing meals on the menus of tapas restaurants confusing. The four-course endless paella comes with a gazpacho starter, a salad, two kinds of paella and... This was my first visit in about 10 years, and how things have changed. Let's start with the service. We made reservations about 2 weeks in advance. Despite that, we got one of the worst tables in the restaurant even though the place was a third empty and there were two same sized open tables (there were six in my... More

I live in Bethesda and decided to drop by to try the restaurant week menu for dinner. I tried the beet salad, mushrooms, shrimp with garlic, pork tenderloin with onions and blue cheese, and the flan for dessert. I think everything was good but nothing was awesome. It was still a deal for the price you pay for restaurant week.... More
