I try go to Penang every time i'm in maryland for my annual vacation. its located in one of the nicest areas. Bathesda is beautiful with lovely cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Penang is like a hidden jewel towards the end of the street. Its a huge restaurant but whenever i have been here (usually for dinner) the place is... More

Great for a taste of Malaysia in Bethesda. Food was very good and we tried the roti canai, rendangs, noodles and more.

We have been going to this restaurant for at least 7 years. My wife is Singaporean and my friend's wife is Malaysian, and they really used to enjoy the food. All their favorites were on the menu. And they still are. But the quality of the food has fallen drastically. During our last visit last week, the chicken (in the... More

It's just a little different from Thai or Chinese, although one can detect the Chinese influence, as with most Asian cuisine. I had the Char Kway Teow, which is apparently more Malay than other items on the menu. It was tasty. Other items on the menu were from other countries in the region. Why not just go to a Thai... the food is nice. Service is nice. Quantity is good. Go ahead and enjoy your dinner. They have something called Malaysian noodles which is really awesome.

Now and then, we miss eating Asian foods. I think, it's about (8) months ago or could be more, the last time we'd dinner there. It was pretty ordinary taste and lousy service at d time. Recently, we went again for a family dinner. We were amazed how fast the serving was. It's less than 15 minutes, our food/s were... More

We ate here on a recent Sunday night, and with the dining room about half-full, we were the only non-Malaysian customers. My lamb rendang was great, and my dining companions' mie goreng and chicken in black bean sauce were very good, too.

I've eaten at the Penang restaurant twice now, and the food was delicious and memorable both times. The most recent time, every dish was marvelous, from the roti canai at the beginning to the ais kacang at the end, with char kway teow in between. It's a good thing I don't live in this area, or I would become quite... More

We went to Penang after a long time and I have to say the service and quality of food has gone downhill. We waited 20 min before someone came took our order. When the waiter came to take our order she seemed distracted and was rushing us to order our food. They were greatly understaffed for a Saturday evening. The... More
