Foong Lin is obviously a favorite with many of the locals. The first time I ate there, I saw the owner/chef greet many regulars by name, and spend time chatting with them and their families. That's nice, but I wish he spent more time in the kitchen because our food was very mediocre. That being said, let me share that... More

We've dined with friends at Foong Lin several times. Each time we order an assortment of plates and always come away happy. The only complaint I might make is that the Lazy Susan gets crowded with 9 offerings! By the way, I especially recommend the Peking duck.

Since moving to its new location, Foong Lin has continued to be an almost weekly destination for our family. My doc told me to loose a few pounds, so I've gone from the Peking Duck to the Peking Chicken, and it's truly delicious. All the food continues to be consistent and excellent on all visits. Try the Toffee Pineapple for... More

Great food, exquisite company and service. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit in Bethesda. Try the suffering basterd 😉

Note: Foong Lin moved to 4613 Willow Lane, Bethesda. We had not been to Foong Lin in several years. I don't know why. It is the best Chinese restaurant at which I have dined. We started with egg rolls, edamame, and hot and sour soup. Old stand-bys, but great flavor! My wife and I had the soft shell crabs. The... More

While airport- and shopping mall-style corporate chinese restaurants with bland food become more commonplace, it's great to find an old-school mom-and-pop authentic neighborhood spot. Foong Lin has a varied menu for all palates. You'll find the old standbys, and some unique specials. The food is hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The owner, Chef Fu, is in the kitchen seven... More

Nice decor, fast service, good food, decent prices. Many usual staples of Chinese-American cuisine, some truly original - try Crispy Orange Eggplant, a very generous portion, perfectly done, and it's like eating your veggies and having a dessert at the same time. Full bar with a welcome addition of sake, beer selection was scant but still better than what one... More

A Bethesda classic which recently moved to another Bethesda Chinese classic location. Extensive menu but food only fair. Service grumpy. Some decline in overall quality and atmosphere from previous very popular location.

This is the place for Cantonese cuisine, although he does make some spicy dishes like mapo tofu. The food is very tasty and servings are ample, the price is right too. For appetizers, we like the crab Rangoon, We always have the orange beef, house pan fried noodles, and black bean shrimp. Don't forget to ask for his pickled cabbage... More
