Service still great, food has slipped

Popped in for an early dinner during happy hour after a month overseas. Bar staff was wonderful as ever, but the kitchen product had slipped since our last visit. Gazpacho seemed like watered down tomato sauce chilled with diced cucumber and peppers thrown in, no other seasoning. Previously... read more

Popped in for an early dinner during happy hour after a month overseas. Bar staff was wonderful as ever, but the kitchen product had slipped since our last visit. Gazpacho seemed like watered down tomato sauce chilled with diced cucumber and peppers thrown in, no other seasoning. Previously dreamy orechiette with sausage and brocolini was bland with undercooked pasta. Dishes... More

I had a hard time with a rating for this place. I love the space - the brick wall, the open garage door windows. It does get a bit loud but I liked the energy. The service was great - no complaints there. The food was good - not great. My date had a chicken sandwich and it was very... More

The food was outstanding but apparently they no longer offer certain things on the menu... why they don't just print up new menu's is beyond me as they were simple paper menus but it is what it is. I had the half moon ravioli which were outstanding and fairly priced. My husband had their Black n' bleu burger but was... More

While walking the streets of Bethesda looking for a place to get a light bite to eat, my husband and I came across the Brickside. The Happy Hour sign outside the door caught our attention so we decided to go in. It was 3pm so the place was pretty empty. We decided to grab a seat at the bar and... More

Had the Max burger was large and cooked well. The ceasar salad dressing was all mayo, no flavor at all. Definitely do not order that. We were there for happy hour. The atmosphere was fun and lively. This place would be good to watch sports events as there is a large TV in the center of the room.

I dropped in because it was a beautiful day outside, the large windows were open and folks were having a good time. Service was decent and friendly. I had the big max burger. It was cooked perfectly medium rare - just as ordered. I tried the Pimms Punch. It seemed watery to me but I like my Pimms with lots... More

My wife and I had a light dinner comprised of four appetizers. The calamari was cooked nicely and not chewy, but was almost too salty to eat. Portion needs to be bigger for $8.95. Next was Farmer's toast, salami, fontina & horseradish. The Farmer's toast looked and tasted like regular white bread, the salami was paper thin, and I couldn't... More

Delicious food, great happy hour deals and perfect location makes this the new destination in Bethesda! Where else can you get a throwback can of beer or a moonshine punch? Add a friendly staff and well appointed decor and you have Brickside. Also, they have the largest TV in Bethesda for game watches! See you there!

With a menu that's a mix of Italian and American favorites elevated by a well-trained kitchen, Brickside is an all-around win, whether in the dining room or at the bar.
