Food mostly average but a fun place to grab a debit card and pick up food from a variety of stations - pizza, appetizers, pasta. I had the carpaccio which was pretty good but too sweet. We were a large group and rented out the whole place which was a good deal.

Its a little confusing how to order if you have never been. The restaurant is set up sort of like Ton's Mongolian Grill. Each person in the party is give a plastic card that records the price of the item you order and is cooked in front of you. I had the Pollo Piccante which was awesome.

My boyfriend and I went to the Bethesda Vapiano lastnight, for what I was hoping for, a nice dinner. I loved the DC location and was SO excited to take him. When we walked in, the hostess was not very welcoming, and just handed us two cards. Since it had been two years from my last visit, I wasn't sure... More

We have been to the Bethesda location a number of times; if you want fast food fast, go to McDonald's. Naturally you have to wait in line, after all they make the pasta they way you like it, how you like it and when you order it. On a very busy day, there might be a long wait. If you... More

I've been to the Vapiano's at Gallery Place several times and always had a great experience. After reading reviews for the Bethesda location I was nervous that the experience would not be the same. It started off rocky. We called several days in advance to reserve a table for 14people for Saturday November 2 at 7:30. My husband and I... More

I live in Bethesda and brought my visiting family to dinner at Vapianos. The ordering system just did not work on a busy Saturday night. I waited for 25 minutes in line for pasta only to have a group of very aggressive young women jump ahead of me. When I told them where the line was they just adopted this... More

Vapiano features made to order pastas, pizza, and salads in a food court like scheme. You can wander about and select whatever you fancy from a variety of stations. Watch the pasta being boiled right in front of you-- they make the pasta fresh daily, in the back. Pasta sauces are concocted with fresh herbs. How fresh? The herb gardens... More

Stupidest system ever, more trouble than McDonalds, lackluster food and indifferent staff. Who thought this was a good idea?

I frequently this place often when it first opened. The set up is odd. You get a card and then you follow around to all the stations and get the food you want. The problem is that the lines get very long and you have to wait in line not at your table for your pasta, salads etc. They do... More

This was my second visit. On my first visit my dish was spectacular, it was everything that was looking for in a pasta bowl. Unfortunately, it was not so great the second tim around when I ordered the same dish again. The cook was very insecure and did not knew the recipes by heart, made my order wrong. I ordered... More
