This is American Regional Cuisine at its classic, pub-inspired best. The food is fun and what we like to call “approachable”. You’ll also enjoy some twists on the classics with taste-inspired ideas like our Dirty Caesar Salad and Greek Turkey Burger. At the American Tap Room we believe in using local ingredients as much as possible and, yes, everything we serve goes well with beer. Ranging from weekend brunch, to a casual lunch outing or an after-work gathering in our bar, each dining experience is uniquely enjoyable. Enjoy your time with us on our outdoor patio, inside by the fireplace, or by booking an event in our private room.

Decent food but pricey

Went with my kids late on a week night. The kids ordered from the kids menu. I had fish and chips and my oldest daughter had a salad. It was decent fish but they do not have regular tartar sauce (which if I had know I would have never ordered fish) but spicy mustard sauce. Our waiter was friendly... read more

Met some friends there for dinner. Menu did not have much of a selection for vegetarians. I asked waitress if a veggie burger could be substituted for the burgers and she said there are very few selections that do not have meat in them. She remarked that many people request vegetarian selections but that she was sorry. Maybe they can... More

We ate here on a Friday night and were able to sit outside in the sidewalk area on a night with great weather. The food was decent but a bit pricey. My wife felt like the crabcakes were a bit salty and the kids mac and cheese was a bit bland for my daughter. Don't get the peach sweet tea... More

We visited the restaurant in Bethesda in May. The service was adequate however while we were eating the staff started moving tables and chairs....scraping against the floors and making quite a racket. There went our dining experience. When I addressed the matter to the manager there was no compensation for the experience...not even an : Sorry for your troubles. We... More

We stopped here for drinks and to watch the Kentucky Derby. This is a fun bar, lots of seating and the bartenders were friendly, attentive and served delicious cocktails. My daughter's finacee' ordered a spicy salad and loved it!! Give it a try if you're spending the day in Bethesda.

Convenient location in Bethesda. Great salads....try the fried chicken salad. The salad with ahi tuna was excellent too. We also had the blackened chicken sandwich (w/o pineapple)...very good. Generous portions on the kids menu including chicken strips...the kids enjoyed. Also tried the Maryland crab soup...good for a non seafood restaurant .

Met a friend on a warm early Spring evening and enjoyed beers and dinner. The selection of craft beers on tap was very good. The upscale pub food was great - he had glazed meatloaf and I splurged and had fried chicken and waffles! If you leave hungry it's your own fault - and ditto for the opposite - being... More

We got great service and a lovely meal. Three of us all ordered different things and everyone was well satisfied. Good selection of brew beers that were recommended by the waiter based on our request. Starter portions very generous but not stodgy. Tuna salad was delicious!

Really just so disappointing. A group of us were on our way to a different restaurant that turned out to be closed. We went to the tap room as a back up and all of us left unsatisfied. The food was mediocre at best (the wings went mostly uneaten). I had the BBQ Bacon Burger and it somehow managed to... More

Watched Soccer and had a nice lunch with a few Pilsners. Nice table by the window to enjoy the sunny day and people watching. Chris B was a very friendly helpful waiter. Traditional Maryland crab cakes ordered plain were delicious with fries (skipped the cole slaw & remoulade) Got 2 because it is hard to imagine eating only one. Boyfriend... More
