Great Greek food

We visited for dinner and lunch as it was across our hotel. The staff is very courteous. It's a small place as you get in you can sit where you want. They have a bar and specials. Alcohol is expensive so be careful what you order. Mojitos were $10 each. If you can make it at happy hour it's... read more

We were coming home from visiting DC for the Cherry Blossom festivities and planning to stop by Yamas Grill in Washington. It was on our way so we checked it and saw that it was more like a take-out place with two small tables. There was nothing wrong with the place and we are not fancy eaters but we were... More

Best casual Greek for miles. Great for the whole family. Service can be spotty depending on what member of the family is working, but food is always good. You can get a fast, healthy homecooked meal here at a fair price.

Simple meals served with a big smile.. The bartender is great.. Always on top of things.. I ordered the grilled chicken kebab, my wife went with a vegetarian platter.. The food is more than enough for two people. A hole in the wall place with food that is homemade.. Definitely a place to come back and try the other menu... More

We went to Yamas on a week night. Had am excellent dinner. Our waiter TJ was terrific ...fixed us with excellent mojitos and appetizers. The gyro platter was really good, as was the other Meze type fare. The atmosphere was friendly and it felt like a neighborhood place in a small Mediterranean town. Will definitely go back there again.

I spent a week in Greece last week. Athens and Mykonos. Amazing food. Yamas makes me feel I'm still there. Authentic flavors, great food, reasonable prices. Glad to see they have opened a second location at 16th+New Hampshire, in DC!

Yamas is mostly a neighborhood gathering place, although plenty of people come from elsewhere as well. I go by with a variety of friends and neighbors at all hours of the day, but if I'm on my own I sometimes just drop in to see who's there. Yamas is unpretentious, the staff is always welcoming, the prices are reasonable and... More

Yamas is consistently good and I went there today for lunch with a friend from work. Parking is usually pretty easy at this end of Bethesda - a welcome relief from the usual hunt in downtown Bethesda. We love coming to Yamas. My friend loves the gyro with their Opa! Fries - with spices and feta cheese these fries are... More

We like coming to Yamas. The lamb burger is amazing and worth it just for a taste of that. What's not so good is if you use a Groupon, which we did last night. There were only three choices of entree...Moussaka (meat or veggie) and fish. Neither the meat moussaka nor the fish was wonderful. The side of roasted potatoes... More

Our family likes our greek food. We came here for a casual birthday dinner and the place was mostly filled for a large party. We were a party of 8 so there was no room for us. We walked out and were going to go somewhere else. The manager came outside after us to see if we wanted to sit... More
