Family owned and operated, Trattoria Sorrento offers old world charm and hospitality in oft-times too fast Bethesda. The meals are well-proportioned, tasty, and authentic. Live opera is offered periodically on weekends, but the real charm is going into a restaurant where you feel welcome and there's a desire to have you return. Delightful!

Had reservations for a Saturday evening. Waitress also had a table of 10, but said she'd take our order after putting in their drink order. She did not come back for 15 minutes, and then we waited an hour for our entre without anyone saying anything to us other than the Maitre de, mentioning that they were "backed up" .... More

We had dinner here with our son who studies in DC. Luckily we made a reservation because people were queuing up outside. A good sign in itself but that requires a very well organized team. Well, that was certainly not the case here. We had at least five different people at out table. Our orders came late and I mean... More

Went to Sorrento with my daughter's family - 7 total diners. The service was very good and the food even better. Teenage grandson tried the Branzino and said it was the best fish he'd ever had. All the meals - lobster ravioli, veal ravioli, salmon, veal parm, fresh pasta, were devoured. Everyone said their meal was delicious and there was... More

Great little restaurant that makes you feel as though we were back in Italy. Service was great, food was delicious and their prices are very reasonable.

Overall we enjoyed this restaurant. The menu selection is quite large and we found the food to be good. The prices are mid-level, possibly a little high. It's a quiet, relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a calm dinner.

I went by Trip Advisor ratings and they were accurate. Good basic food in a nice atmosphere with service that had to be a family member. I had the chicken and my daughter a pasta disk with crab and shrimp. Both were very good. House wine was good and nice that you could order a litre saving money over ordering... More

We had a wonderful meal at family run Trattoria Sorrento this past Saturday night. It was very crowded and fortunately we had a reservation. The tables are very close which turned out to be nice since we sat next to a friendly couple and talked with them all through dinner. Felt very much like a little restaurant in Italy.

Found this restaurant using TripAdvisor. Was staying at a nearby hotel for work, and came here with a colleague for dinner. Overall, had a wonderful experience. This is a family run restaurant, and this really came across as the evening progressed. The hostess greater us warmly, and really made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is pleasant, and conducive to conversation.... More
