Service very good and meal was also very good.

I went by Trip Advisor ratings and they were accurate. Good basic food in a nice atmosphere with service that had to be a family member. I had the chicken and my daughter a pasta disk with crab and shrimp. Both were very good. House wine was good and nice that you could order a litre saving... read more

Overall we enjoyed this restaurant. The menu selection is quite large and we found the food to be good. The prices are mid-level, possibly a little high. It's a quiet, relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a calm dinner.

We had a wonderful meal at family run Trattoria Sorrento this past Saturday night. It was very crowded and fortunately we had a reservation. The tables are very close which turned out to be nice since we sat next to a friendly couple and talked with them all through dinner. Felt very much like a little restaurant in Italy.

Found this restaurant using TripAdvisor. Was staying at a nearby hotel for work, and came here with a colleague for dinner. Overall, had a wonderful experience. This is a family run restaurant, and this really came across as the evening progressed. The hostess greater us warmly, and really made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is pleasant, and conducive to conversation.... More

When we lived in MD over 8 years ago, we came here on a regular basis because it was, in our view, the very best Italian restaurant in the Washington area. We were back for a night with a friend and, it has gotten better. True Italian home cooking with a nice atmosphere, great service and reasonable prices. We started... More

This is really a great Italian restaurant. Fresh made in their kitchen pastas, great sauces, nice ambiance, great service, caring staff/management. The gnocchi and ravioli are excellent. Lots of vegetarian choices as well as meats and rotating specials. Everything is fresh and well made. Reasonably priced. Well worth a visit and likely to become your favorite Italian restaurant in Bethesda.

My family has enjoyed many special occasions dining in this fine local restaurant. The menu has excellent variety and several specials change daily. They have a special live Opera on Sunday nights with a fixed price dinner by reservation only - a true special event worth trying! The food is always very good and prepared to order with fresh vegetables... More

Joe Haughton and Josephine Riggs gave wonderful performances at this once a month Opera Night at Sorrento (first Sunday of every month). What a treat! The meal is a prix fixed meal, and it was very nice, especially the Semolina Dumpling first course. The place is lovely. Owners, a Mamma-Papa place, with excellent waiters manage to serve, rather perfectly (songs,... More

Went to dinner with a friend and was basically disappointed. First, the positive - the ambiance is pleasant with posters and paintings of Italy on the walls and nice festive lighting. Next, the big negative - the service is very inattentive, not particularly friendly, and very slow. We kept looking for our waiter to get the things that he had... More

This is a pleasant restaurant with good and friendly service. The wine list is also one with good selections at reasonable prices. My wife had one of their regular pasta dishes and it was excellent. I made the mistake of choosing one of their specials of the evening. It was a rockfish dish which sounded very nice the way the... More
