True Comfort Food

Old fashioned, excellent classic Italian. A tradition in Bethesda, and our go to for a delicious, easy night out that won't break the bank. Feels like going home!

Came here for a business meeting and I can tell you that I most likely would never have a reason to go back. The wine was undrinkable..... I can't believe I'm saying that but it was, the food was beyond bland and sort of seemed like cafeteria food, and the pasta was kind of terrible. The atmosphere is very 80's... More

Mediocre food, terrible service. Marinara is a bit greasy, but tolerable. Had to ask for balsamic for the caprese, ok, not bad, but having to ask for Parmesan for the pasta, c'mon! It took 20 minutes and two asks to get the check. Here's my favorite part, they charged $20 for two limoncello!! Really? A reasonably priced meal with overpriced... More

We've been going there for years. Attractive setting, attentive wait staff. Their veal dishes -- particularly the specials -- are wonderful.

Dined here with 3 colleagues over a business dinner. The service was OK but our waitress was not able to really provide information to help me decide which of two dishes I could not choose one over the other. In the end I had a veal dish which was just average. No one really made any remarks about the food... More

I went here with some friends in October, 2015. This is a very traditional Italian restaurant that has been open for 30+ years. The bread and olive oil were great starters, and then we shared some delicious mussels (enough for 2 to share). I had a delicious veal chop, and other people enjoyed veal piccata and pasta dishes. They have... More

We typically are here on a weekday evening. Always friendly, quiet but not stuffy, warm and fantastic food

Tried the calamari alla Luciano which was very tasty. Reminded me of how mama would make. Will be returning soon.

I was misguided by the high ratings on TA. The menu consists of what the american version of italian food was many years ago. There was no innovation nor decent presentation. The pastas were grossly overcooked and reheated. The veal was soggy and the vegetable overcooked. The service was uncaring. There are so many better places to go nearby.

So Sorry I didnt send sooner, i thought I did --I can not put into words how really, really bad the food is here. Tasteless, over cooked and maybe over reheated. Nasty, nasty wine steward with delusions of grandeur. Witless waiters. Frankly anyone who raved about this place must have no experience with the other amazing restaurants in the immediate,... More
