We ordered the Spanish paella valenciana and a pitcher of sangria. We had to special order some lemons for the paella since they were not provided as expected. The sangria was small and simple. Overall, for the high price you could find a better paella elsewhere. However if you live close by it is worth a try. The place was... More

I had their Caesar salad and it was not even close to what Caesar salad should be. Their paella was ok but nothing to brag about. I ordered a sangria and it was just plain simple. Ok restaurant but they need to pic one cuisine and focus on it.

We walked in early on a Sunday evening without a reservation. We choose to sample a broad selection of tapas. The chicken thighs and the stuffed endive were the hits of the evening. The calamari was our least favorite and even then it was good. Lola was our server. She did an excellent job. So good, in fact, that we... More

Prices are very reasonable, but the food is ok. Service was way too fast--all of our dishes came out around the same time. We were out of restaurant within 45 minutes.

With all the outstanding ethnic restaurants in Bethesda's restaurant row, it is understandable that one might overlook Guardado's Spanish/tapas gem, but it would be a major oversight. We have been dining there for a number of years, and the quality of food and friendliness of the staff are memorable. The scallops are always excellent, ditto for the filet and lamb... More

It's hard to be hidden in Bethesda but I was not familiar with Guardado's. I wish we had discovered it sooner. Start with a glass of Sangria and enjoy a few tapas. We especially enjoyed the mussels and a shrimp tapas...calamari was a little too salty. Fried plantains are excellent. Entrees were very good and reasonably priced. Pork specialty was... More

We went here for happy hour. I was impressed with the mojito not so much with the food. We tried the croquetas which I thought were too mushy and lacked flavor. We had the chorizo sausage which was tasty. My husband liked the fried plantains. Our waiter was very knowledgable about the spanish cuisine.

We love going here because it supports a locally owned and run restaurant, and the food is great. We were here with six others for a casual dinner. We had many small plates and two paellas. Everything was excellent. Service was terrific, ambiance comfortable, and you can tell they really care about what they do. I would heartily recommend Guardados... More

If your looking for good tapas, got to try Guardado's. Everything on the menu is just great plus they are always adding new items to the menu. The wine selection is good and priced reasonable.

Always nice to try new restaurants when travelling to places I've been to many times before. This is hidden away a bit from the main restaurant area in this part of Bethesda. Vegetarian options are pretty much limited to tapas (or paella), but at least there are enough options from the hot tapas menu. I tried 3 tapas dishes, the... More
