A Decent Dive

Walk down the steps to enter this surprisingly large British Pub. Always a good selection on tap, and a typical British Bar food menu. The food is average at best, but that is the case in almost any pub in the UK. Stick with pub fare and you will be fine. I have found the staff at the bar to... read more

The place is under the street but is open and spacious. The tap is the best feature: real English ales and lagers on draft. Fish and chips plate was quite good, but for $20 I would expect it to be. Service was very good. This is a combination sports bar/English pub, with TVs all around, and two bar areas. Enjoyed... More

We visited this restaurant to watch the world cup soccer game as no other Bethesda restaurants would give out reservations. It was a lot of fun as there were 2 games going on simultaneously and all 4 countries were well represented in the group. Parking for the game was tough, but manageable. As the game started, mood changed and people... More

When you walked down into the place that should have been first sign that you were going to a place better known for the drink than food. Menu items were not available, service was very, very slow, and it was a bit warm in the place. It's on the edge and needs work to upgrade the experience.

I like how the place looks small but it actually very big. Has pool tables, tables to sit at, bar, and dancing. Food is good too!

I bought a Groupon for Union Jack's and really had rather low expectations for the food. Was really going for a fun thing to do one night before watching Downton Abbey. We were really surprised at the quality of the food. I had a wonderful salmon dish with a citrus cream on a bed of great mashed potatoes and asparagus.... More

On service: The waitress was rude and gave my friend a bad attitude when he asked for the wine list. My biggest gripe was that at the end of the night the waitress told me I owed $157.21. Apparently, she put all the drinks my friends were ordering on my tab. The waitress and whoever was the manager failed to... More

We go to Bethesda and some how we always end up spending at least an hour or two in Union Jacks before or after or originally planned destination. The atmosphere is amazing. Great pub style with a large dance floor multiple bar area options and bar games. Who wouldn't love a place like this? The answer from looking around is... More

Had a blast at Union Jacks. Live music, many big screens, great place to watch a soccer match! Food was delicious, as was the staff. Don't miss Monty Python Holy Grail Ale and a plate of Bavarian pretzels. Loved it!!
