We have gone to the goldenrod for breakfast for years and years. It is like going back in history with every trip. The real draw is the homemade taffy which always draws a crowd when they make it. There isn't a better taffy to be found. A great candy counter........a spotless! Nice staff as well.

We've been going to the Goldenrod for breakfast for years on our visits to the Maine coast. And to get a few boxes of their famous salt water taffy to take home. The food's always good, especially the blueberry pancakes (when in season). Service, by the local student population, is generally friendly and efficient. A big attraction for kids and... More

I visit this restaurant every time i am in the area and am yet to have a bad meal. Their fall hours are a little whacky but if you hit this place during peak season you can get a great meal and stop by to see the taffy being made. We always leave here with a box of fresh taffy... More

The Goldenrod is not only a restaurant but they are a candy store also. They are famous for their Salt Water taffy. You can watch it being made from the sidewalk and then go inide and purchase some.

Great food, great atmosphere and a little bit of nostalgia. They have a diverse menu with all of your favorites plus an old fashioned soda counter. You can watch them hand pull taffy and pick up wonderful treats in the candy shop. It's worth the trip to York to go here.

Don't miss this great place if you're in the area! Old fashion ice cream parlor/sandwich shop! Delish Be sure to watch them making salt water taffy through the windows as you walk by. Gives you a great view of how it's made from start to finish! Go inside and purchase some of these wonderful treats! The best in the area,... More

Step back a bit in time and enjoy a lime Rickey with your deviled ham sandwich and finish with a penuche sundae. Sweet, charming, retro in the best sense of the word....a classic not to be missed.

I bring my kids annually to the Goldenrod after our visit to York's Wild Animal Kingdom. We got there around 1:30pm. The service was AWFUL! The waitstaff were unfriendly, EXTREMELY slow and disengaged. This was the worst service, by far, we have received. Coffee was cold and not fresh, food was mediocre at best and it took 30minutes to receive... More
