Brown's Ice Cream is a local favorite in addition to a tourist place. Located a short distance from Nubble Lighthouse, Brown's is quite removed from the places lining the downtown strip. Brown's is noted for its variety of flavors and generous servings. Limber up before ordering, because you will have to be at your best to lick fast enough!

They have favors you didn't even know existed or old time favorites you can't find . They are very busy but have many window servers so the lines move fast. A nice place to have a treat after a day of sightseeing or being on the beach!

Our visit to Brown's ice cream was very pleasant because another customer assisted me with climbing up the ledge until I was able to reach the rail. On a rainy evening I would not have attempted the visit. The ice cream itself was very good, however.

It was nice taking a stroll through the residential areas to get to Brown's and then off to the Nubble Light. This place was packed, but all the windows were managed and we didn't wait long at all. We got 2 small cones and 2 kiddie cups (all were totally packed full of ice cream and we could hardly finish... More

Glad we stopped at this local ice cream stand. So many choices of homemade ice cream to choose from. The small is definitely a large. Could almost go with a kiddie cone!

This ice cream is so good with many different flavors (too many) to choose from. I got a "kiddie" cone which no kid I know could eat! Unfortunately half of it fell off the cone and I forgot to get a cup to hold it. It was delicious though.

Our first visit to this area on the way back home after a stay in Ogunquit. Went to look at Nubble Light and spotted this gem on the side of the road. Great spot. Ice Cream is homemade, portions are generous and several picnic tables and a large parking lot make it a "can't miss" place for the requisite summertime... More

Every time I come to York Beach, I always stop at Brown's. They have an amazing selection of favors and their portion sizes are huge.

Really liked the broad selection of flavors and nice setting near Nubble Lighthouse. Not top notch ice cream, but very good. Portions are huge so go with kiddie size unless you're really hungry.

My wife and I stopped here for ice cream last weekend. We always order the kid size cones which is plenty for us. Never had a flavor that we didn't like! Always a must stop when we are in the area.
