Description: The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s...
The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant.

The view is quintessential Maine, people hustling up and down the docks, gleaming yachts and colorful lobster boats in front of a rock and pine-tree shore.

Dockside’s recent renovation is perfect, warm and comfortable. Hardwood floors, European style lighting floor to ceiling window and a new mahogany bar with an adjoining outdoor cocktail deck. During warm months seating is available on our harbor view screen porch. The atmosphere is casual but the food is serious.

Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too.

Adequate food with a remarkable view

We had lunch there on a weekday. It was quiet, and we ate on the deck. It's a wonderful view of York Harbor. The food was maybe a little above average, but the service was incredibly slow. Thirty minutes to get our drinks, and over an hour for the food. Not that we minded, because it's a beautiful... read more

This quaint restaurant with views of the York River has a fantastic upscale menu. Since it was lunch we were keeping our selections on the lighter side; for example, a Lobster and Cheese Panini and a Prime Rib Sandwich were all prepared excellently. I wish we had time to try items on the dinner menu, perhaps next time.

Well located to the Dockside B&B, we enjoyed several meals here and they did not disappoint. Service was friendly and fast, in spite of having multiple wedding receptions and parties happening. Awesome views of dock and harbor.

We have been going to York for vacation for well over ten years. We had never tried Dockside Restaurant. Since it was our anniversary we wanted to try a place that was a little more upscale. We made reservations online. We were seated promptly and our server brought over cheese and crackers along with water. We selected a bottle of... More

My husband and I enjoyed some very special dinners at Dockside several years ago, and returned last week for lunch just to check in again. The setting is perfect -- on a spit of land between the York River and the harbor, opening to the ocean. The restaurant is very open, with huge windows (and a wrap around dining porch)... More

Thank you for stopping at the Dockside to commemorate your special meals you have had with us, the screened porch is wonderful, all the boat activity and lovely natural scenery. Our oysters are brought in fresh each day and fry up plump and juicy, we are pleased your husband enjoyed them. The end of the 2015 summer season is upon... More

Had a decent dinner here, and it was convenient to our lodging, but in reality we agreed we probably wouldn't return... There are too many better alternatives.

We are happy you enjoyed our food, our culinary crew endeavors to make each meal a special treat. The leaves are turning and the empty nested wandering leaf peepers are making their way across New England seeking colorful leaves and equally colorful servers to brighten their day. The Dockside Restaurant is York's only harbor view restaurant, with a 50 year... More

Lovely porch experience, fine soup and sandwich. Good wine selection, but wait staff seemed either overworked or not engaged. Will come back and give another try.

Yes, the southern coast of Maine has a 7 to 12 foot tide and it is fascinating to watch the changes develop while sitting on the Dockside's Deck. More

GREAT view...sat outside and felt like we were on our deck in our own little private cove overlooking all the boats in the harbor. Just stopped for a quick late lunch and had chowder, onion soup and two glasses of wine...delicious and the waiter was perfectly attentive. Will come back here again for dinner

Had haddock stuffed with crab/shrimp. Haddock was ok sauce was flavorful. Stuffing was ok, bot would have preferred larger size of crab and shrimp. Wife had filet mignonette which was nicely prepared. Potions were on the small side, prices were on the high side value wise.
