Description: The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant. The view is quintessential Maine, people hustling up and down the docks, gleaming yachts and colorful lobster boats in front of a rock and pine-tree shore. Dockside’s recent renovation is perfect, warm and comfortable. Hardwood floors, European style lighting floor to ceiling window and a new mahogany bar with an adjoining outdoor cocktail deck. During warm months seating is available on our harbor view screen porch. The atmosphere is casual but the food is serious. Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too.

This restaurant is part of the Dockside property where we stayed. It is a 2 min. walk from our room.

We did not have reservations but showed up early enough over Labor Day weekend to have an early dinner (5:30 pm) and we were able to sit out on the patio. The views are just stunning and the harbor is so beautiful this time of day. This is really a hidden gem. In all our visits to York, we have... More

On our recent stay at the Dockside Guest Quarters we had diner with friends at this restaurant by the ocean side. We sat on the porch and enjoyed the outside air while eating our meals. We were four and all of us enjoyed the food, whether it was the drunken lobster, the tuna, pasta with shrimp, it was all very... More

What a great place for dinner or lunch. Had a pleasure of lunch at this lovely restaurant. The scenery is fabulous, always something to look at. Boats passing by, or anchored in the harbor. Lunch was delightful. Fresh lobster or fish. Nice portions.

I went to this restaurant years ago and it was not good. My experience this time was totally unexpected. We had a birthday celebration for a freind and the service and food was excellent. Drunken Lobster sautee could not have been better. Our waitress, Heather, was alos outstanding. We will be back.

The view is lovely, the wonderful picturesque harbor can be seen from the dining room as well as the porch. The food was OK, not bad but nothing to write home about. Our server was friendly if somewhat confused, it seemed like it was his first day. Our food took quite sometime considering what we ordered. We will return to... More

The Dockside Restaurant at York Harbor, ME was amazing! We stayed 4 nights in the Guest Quarters and ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant daily. Delicious food and martinis! I was also given an "overflow" glass from my martini, which I thought was nice. But, most of all, the views were stunning!

The setting for this restaurant is excellent. We had a great view of the marina. The service and food were good. Our server was Sherrian. We split a strawberry Gorgonzola salad which was great. For dinner I had the drunken lobster and my spouse enjoyed the beef tournedos. Both presentation were very good and the meal itself was a little... More

Have eaten both from the dinner menu and the bar menu and found the food to be consistently excellent. The view of York Harbor before sunset is beautiful. This is a high end restaurant worth the visit. Side comment...Ordered a margarita and the bartender provided an extra glass of "overflow". Don't know if they always do this but was classy!!!

A view to die for. Lots of natural light spilling throughout the restaurant by the water. Service and food was well above average.

Harris Island Road where the Dockside is located is without question off the beaten path and we thank everyone who makes the effort to find the Dockside. I love the early evening colors reflecting off the water, "summer cottages" and lobster boats. More
