The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant. The view is quintessential Maine, people hustling up and down the docks, gleaming yachts and colorful lobster boats in front of a rock and pine-tree shore. Dockside’s recent renovation is perfect, warm and comfortable. Hardwood floors, European style lighting floor to ceiling window and a new mahogany bar with an adjoining outdoor cocktail deck. During warm months seating is available on our harbor view screen porch. The atmosphere is casual but the food is serious. Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too.

Dinner with a View

My husband and I dined at the Dockside Restaurant during a recent stay at the Dockside Guest Quarters B&B. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. We dined at sunset and thoroughly enjoyed our meal of Haddock and grill pork chops.

Fantastic food. Can't say too much about this restaurant -- everything is excellent. Go and eat lobster - lobster - lobster. Need I say more?

Very good resturant. We enjoyed a very fine meal here. I would recommend the stuffed lobster. It was fabulous! Great service and the atmosphere was great too.

We are innkeepers nearby and send our guests here frequently. They come back happy. That says a lot. Our experience has always been consistently pleasant, good food, atmosphere, etc. Thank you.

This is a casually elegant restaurant that served up interesting entrees and ended with a great dessert. I had duck, a huge portion of half a young bird, and my wife had salmon on a cauliflower purée that surprised her with its flavor. We topped it of with a salted caramel gelato. All made fresh on the premises "except the... More

My son and I arrived in York around 9pm on a recent Monday evening during his fall break from Georgia Tech. Trying to cover as much of New England as possible in 4 days, we had made a quick sunset stop at Portland Head lighthouse, and our drive to York where that night's hotel was reserved took us longer than... Stopped for lunch. Maybe it was a bad idea. Had the fish sandwich. HEAVILY breaded and fried. So much batter, it was just over the top. Served with fries that were obviously frozen and had no real flavor. Same could be said of the cole slaw. Spouse had the lobster roll, which was very tasty, except for the greasy (not... More

Atmosphere is great, and very romantic with candlelight and with a view to the harbor. Service was excellent. Food was pretty good, although they were out of scallops, which is what we went there for. Still the other entrees we had were quite tasty.
