This was our old "stompin ground" 24 years ago. My wife loved the lobster pie and I loved the prime rib. We went back a couple of weeks ago on a Fall Foliage weekend for the first time in 24 years and felt that we needed to go back to see if it had changed much. Still had the quaint,... More

If you are into a fun time, good people, fast bar service, live music and a pretty decent size menu to go up and order from, this is your spot. No muss, no fuss.

Well, went there with a large group for a farewell to a fellow employee. I've worked in York for 7 years; this is described as a local hangout but the 20-30 people I was with were all locals and at no time did anyone recognize any other patrons, so i'm not sure these were locals vs. tourists. Mixed thoughts. Frankly,... More

First meal in Maine and sadly this is where my husband and I went. Only thing on the menu tailored to my medical needs was broiled haddock and somehow they made that taste awful. They had one vegetable on the menu and when my food came out is when they told me they ran out of this one and only... More

This is a classic. Early bird - unlimited fried haddock. The haddock was the best dish of all. Lobster roll - OK, but stick with the fish.

This little restaurant was a fun time. We had been told to go to The Barn for the best lobster in town but it was closed when we decided to go. The Lobster the Rough is a little bar/ restaurant out back with the same menu and cook but a little more fun! The food was amazing! Great place to... More

This place is a regular visit every time we go to York. The food and place are exactly what Maine is suppose to be. Rustic and old but cool. Some times the service can be a little sketchy but overall good food. We always get the mussels, typically they are on special and lobstas... All good. Enjoy.

We met up with a large group of friends who were locals and others visiting Maine at this spot. It looks like it would draw in only tourists, but on a June Sunday afternoon there were plenty of locals on hand too. What a fun outdoor place! Family and adult friendly with bocce ball in the back, music, food, bar...it... More

For our group of eight, whole lobster was okay but other items (stuffing in seafood dishes, bread, green beans) were bland and/or cold. Clam chowder was watery and tasteless. People who had pasta thought it was okay. Waitress seemed confused most of the meal - forgot to bring some people their courses and brought the wrong meals.

The Lobster Barn has a kitschy, antique-decorated setting that is good for families and friends getting together. It isn't a very romantic place but that doesn't take away from its charm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and food was what I wanted: fried and ready for me to dip in tartar sauce. One good take away is the... More
