A friend and I were in the area for an appointment and inquired about a good place for lunch. Clayton's was one of three area eateries suggested. We quickly checked it out on tripadvisor and we join all the other reviewers who sing it's praises and award it 5 stars! Great service, clean environment, very friendly & helpful staff, and... More

This owner knows the business. Very good food and exceptional pastry items. Service is pretty fast, but sometimes the line is long and you need to wait before ordering at a counter, but after ordering the food comes relatively fast. Wonderful sandwiches.

Claytons always has great food! They have a large menu filled with wonderful choices that can please anyone! Their soups are amazing and they always have different options to cater to people's individual dietary needs..gluten/dairy free etc.. they are always extremely busy which should go to show that their establishment is well liked! If you get the chance, GO!

The food at Clayton's is really wonderful. Obviously this is the place where the locals go (I am not), because the parking lot was completely full, but the food was worth the wait in line. Helpful staff, great food, happy customers. You won't be disappointed!

I have been a regular Claytons customer since the day they first opened on Main Street in Yarmouth. The soup is hands down the best around, and they consistantly serve great food. I would highly recommend this establishment!

Get ready! There is a reason the line is always long at lunch time! It is well worth the wait. The soups are fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are innovative and tasty. As for desserts, give into the temptation! You can't go wrong at Claytons!

My husband and I went for lunch here with our dog. We knew that this place has some outdoor seating so on a hot day the dog could accompany us. I had the popular chicken salad sandwich w/bleu cheese dressing and red grapes on sour dough bread while my husband ate the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Both were big sandwiches... More

We were on our way up to Freeport so found this on Trip Advisor. I'd have to say its the first time I've disagreed with a #1 rating. Not overly friendly, no clam chowder (not a daily offering) and OK sandwiches.

We spent 4th of July week in Portland, Yarmouth, Freeport area and the best lunch we had was at Clayton's -- recommended by a local friend. We sat "in" their patio yes by the parking lot, but surrounded by pretty pots of flowers and the tables have umbrellas. Ordered the soup of the day (a vegetarian butternut) that was light... More

Thanks to TA's reviewers who pointed us in this direction. What a nice find. We stopped by for lunch. I ordered the clam chowder which was a special for the day, along with a half roast beef sandwich with horseradish spread. The wife had the curried chicken salad sandwich. The chowder was one of the best I've ever had (despite... More
