Too much food with not enough taste

We were hungry and wanted a good meal. This was a pleasant enough looking place, and the mussels were tasty and Italian fries very good, but the main dishes were less. Short Rib was more like a pot roast and jumbalya was huge, but not as tasty as it should have been. Waitress was as nice as could... read more

We are local and frequently ate here in the past when it was 233 Grill. Our most recent meal will be our last. The Dark and Stormy tasted like , well it had no taste. Sent it back. Heard waitress ask table next to us about their drinks, explaining the usual bartender was not there. Ok. Tenderloin tips were so... More

We have eaten here several times and try to always plan our first and last night's meal here before we fly out. Charming little bar area. We each had a nice glass of wine and have never been disappointed with the meals. My favorite was the clam/pasta dish which they didn't have the last time I was there. One time... More

Stopped in for dinner and had a nice time. The food was great and the waitress was really nice and friendly. Had the butternut squash ravioli which was delicious. The steak was also excellent and cooked perfectly! The wine was fruity and the margarita was very tasty. Will be returning for sure.

We have always wanted to try Grill 233 and our recent visit was worth the wait. Two of us ordered salads as a main course and both were a generous portion. The beet salad was delicious. One word on the atmosphere: sparse. Paintings or artwork would enhance the experience. Service was slow but once our server noticed us she was... More

We had dinner this evening at Grill 233 and enjoyed a terrific meal. I had one of the Specials, which was Butternut Squash Ravioli with almonds, cranberries, mushrooms, & goat cheese. It was excellent. My husband had the clam chowder and an entree of lobster-stuffed haddock. The portions were just the right size, and we finished every morsel of food... More

Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. Upon arrival got the clear impression that it never made it to the reservation list for the evening. Service was attentive and good. Bread very tasty, salads plentiful, fresh and tasty. 2 of us ordered chicken parm: chicken cutlet on both appeared to have been frozen and over-cooked - dry, not too tasty... More

We have been to Grill 233 multiple times and have never been disappointed except at times we have had to wait for a long time because it is so popular. The menu has a wide variety of choices of different types at a variety of price points. We have always been able to count on getting a tasty meal at... More

Although the place was nearly empty, it took 5 minutes to be seated, forever to get two sandwiches, and a good 15 minutes to get the check and pay for it - even though we told the waitress we were in a hurry. Food was good, but not special enough to make up for the endless waiting. They NEED to... More

We stopped in for dinner based on a recommendation we had received last year. Dinner was OK, nothing more, nothing less. We had three dinners, each was about the same. Service was very good, but the food needs some improvement.
