A charming, typical New England property situated on the Royal River. The interior is warm, inviting and comfortable, the staff, friendly and attentive and the menu filled with delicious choices. I ordered the oysters to start and the salmon as a main course, finishing up with an espresso. I will most certainly return for more in the near future.

Situated by a marina on the Royal River, the Grillhouse has terrific views, and food that lives up to the views. Although the oysters and other seafood are local and fresh, and well prepared, the menu extends beyond seafood. The duck was excellent. Monday offers a variety of half-priced wine, which are good values. Enjoy!

We was recommended by the local after the lobster pound were closed after the Columbus Day. Hoping that the Grillhouse might have lobster in their menu. Unfortunately, lobster were not available either. We ended up ordering the clam chowder, mussels in wine sauce, and filed calamari. To top it off, we each had a glass of their White House wine.... We had dinner here with another couple. The setting of the restaurant is a riverside harbor area. It looks a little rustic until you see the actual dining establishment which is in a New England style building with lots of windows and just enough little lights outside to give it charm. Inside is a lovely restaurant with lots of ambiance.... More

I stopped at Royal River Grillhouse during a business trip and it did not disappoint. The clam chowder was unique... thicker than the "normal" New England clam chowder Scallops were cooked to perfection

This was our first trip in on the 11th with Jenna as our server for our party of 6. Greeters at the front of the house were professional and welcoming. Jenna was excellent and very personable throughout our stay. We also liked that the manager Mark checked in on us before we left. This restaurant is beautifully laid out and... More

We had lunch here with family (sandwiches and soft drinks). It’s a nice clean restaurant with good food and service in a harbor setting. Good atmosphere and pleasant; but, for me, at least, not especially distinctive or memorable.

Dining at Royal River Grillhouse is always a great experience. Last nights dinner was delicious! Started the evening with delicious wine and a margarita, so refreshing. The clam chowder was full of clams and potatoes and was creamy and good! The wedge salad with grilled chicken was absolutely amazing! I know its just a salad but the dressing was so... More

Went to the royal river grill on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. The drink menu was great, we both ordered the jalapeño, cucumber, cilantro margarita. WOW!! We could've had a whole pitcher of them! We ordered a few oysters and a beet soup that they had on special. Both good, except they don't take the foot out of the oysters... More

We were checking out marinas and came upon this restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful and the service quick and friendly. The chowder was great, with plenty of clams, and had a nice smoky flavor. The lobster stew was silky and contained lots of lobster claws. We both enjoyed scrumptious haddock sandwiches with thick, nicely done pieces of fish. It was... More
