The incredible shrinking lobster roll

Day's isn't the only place doing it, but they are participating in it. Lobster rolls are shrinking all over New England. The one served at Day's this afternoon was noticeably shorter, with less meat, than last year. It's not your standard New England top split hot dog roll anymore. To be fair... read more

Definitely not the worst or the best lobster roll we had on our Maine road trip, but definitely the smallest. I had the lobster roll and hubby had the crab roll and both were smaller than we have had and my lobster roll was a bit lacking in flavor. Should have known by the lack of cars in the parking... We stopped to try a lobster roll because it was within walking distance of our hotel and we were only in the area overnight. Ended up not getting the roll because it was very pricey. We ended up getting a grilled cheese and fries for our son and still paid way too much.

The first of my lobster roll stops in Maine, Day's lobster roll was decent, but far from my favorite of the trip. A bit lacking in flavor for me. That being said, it had value on its side, as it was also one of the cheapest we found in our travels. The better half had fish tacos, which we both... More

I kept hearing that this was the place for lobster rolls. Honestly it fell short for me. There was not a lot of flavor in the lobster roll and it was a little chewy. Maybe I am not the lobster fan others are but for me it was just average.

This is a good, but not outstanding restaurant. If you like whole belly clams, haddock, lobster and crab meats, then you might like to stop in between May and October. The food is pretty good, the cole slaw is quite good, and the prices are fairly reasonable. With Pat's Pizza up the road, and a few good places in Freeport,... More

My wife and I stopped here for lunch at the suggestion of the fellow at the ME visitors' center down the road. It was the perfect lunch stop for a beautiful day. Walk-up counter, fresh lobster rolls and crabmeat rolls. Some of the best and freshest we have had anywhere. Then we sat on at one of the picnic tables... More

Lunch at Days Crabmeat and Lobster was very good. Lobster Roll sandwiches were very tasty. Not too much in the way of ambience, but that may be what makes this place good, besides the food of course. Carry-out only. Picnic tables out back overlooking marsh nice view. Price was right, cheaper than other places we've had lobster rolls this trip.... More
