Yummy fried clams! Hand cut fries... yum...

Days is a classic roadside, seafood shack: Order at the window, hang out at a picnic table in the back until your number is called, and enjoy! The good: -- The fried clams were AWESOME. We ordered a large to share and it was plenty. The clams were big bellies, light batter, and very... read more

We got the fried clam dinner & lobster roll. Even though the batter for the fried clams was tasty & clams tender, it was greasy as was the fries. The lobster roll was not that, but a wrap with way too much lettuce & tomatoes. I like my lobster meat clean with out all that interference! Very expensive. $37- for... More

This is a take out only establishment. Ordered a full pint of fried whole clams, ff and Sea Dog root beer. The clams were excellent as were the fries, not to mention the root beer, which at $2.79 a pop should be delicious. Behind Day's is a nice picnic bench seating area overlooking one of many salt marshes in this... More

We were totally shocked on how much it cost to get a quick bite to eat. It was fresh but no french fries. We will not be going back for that reason. Makes us wonder how a young family could afford going there.

We have stopped here many times in the past and were satisfied with the food.. However, this time we were disappointed. My husband ordered the haddock sandwich. The fish was fresh, cooked nicely and very tasty. For the money, the portion was very small. I ordered the fried clam roll and to say the very least, I was very disappointed.... More

We stopped here on the recommendation of friends who always stop on their many trips to northern Maine. Had the lobster roll, their signature sandwich. It was small, on a slice of plain white bread, and had very little taste. It was also small enough that I was hungry and needed to eat again when passing through Freeport. The cole... More

Took my kids (6 & 9) to Maine while staying in Boston to experience more of New England. On the way to Freeport, we got hungry and had been told by a friend Day's would be a good experience. Armed with ready-to-try palates, we ordered Lobster Rolls, Fried Haddock Nuggets, and Steamed Clams (STEAMERS!). The food was good, though the... More

Definitely not the worst or the best lobster roll we had on our Maine road trip, but definitely the smallest. I had the lobster roll and hubby had the crab roll and both were smaller than we have had and my lobster roll was a bit lacking in flavor. Should have known by the lack of cars in the parking... We stopped to try a lobster roll because it was within walking distance of our hotel and we were only in the area overnight. Ended up not getting the roll because it was very pricey. We ended up getting a grilled cheese and fries for our son and still paid way too much.

Day's isn't the only place doing it, but they are participating in it. Lobster rolls are shrinking all over New England. The one served at Day's this afternoon was noticeably shorter, with less meat, than last year. It's not your standard New England top split hot dog roll anymore. To be fair, the lobster meat was fresh and sweet, excellent.... More
