Really good food & service....finally some fair prices

we had the delicious Wednesday special lobster...$12 each with no sides which was fine for us. A few days later we had the senior special haddock dinner which was excellent & included a side of salad & ice cream. Both days we sat out on the deck which was very enjoyable. Cold glasses of Shipyard... read more

This is my husband's favorite place for seafood in Maine. We try to get here at least once a year. We usually have lobster in one form or another, steamed clams also a favorite. The price of seafood varies daily and is usually expensive but as I said, we come once a year. Service is always good as well. Love... More

We almost didn't stop here because it looked like a typical tourist trap along a major tourist route in Maine. But is was late and we were hungry, so we decided to give it a try. Now this was not high season, so it wasn't crowded, and we didn't have any problems with the service. However, the food we had... More

Food is very good, prices fair, good variety on the menu. Only problem was, when the server asked if we wanted anything else, my wife said "no, thanks ". She took our plates and said she'd be right back. I had a mouthful of food, and she took my plate. I wasn't done eating! She took off with my fries,... More

Fun atmosphere and nice views. Service was pleasant. My husband had the clam dinner which was plentiful but the clams were on the spongy side. I had the baked haddock dinner with cheese and mushrooms. Haddock was served almost cold and tasteless, more like a wet steamed haddock. Baked potato was cold. Expected better for the price of this lunch.... More

The food and service is fair and the prices are higher but no worse than other tourist type places. On the positive side it's right on route one which makes it great to get in and out of. The dining room is very large and can easily handle tour buses which can make the place quite noisy at times.

Although my wife and I live in Maine (Eliot) and often frequent local seafood restaurants, we decided to take a day trip up the coast and decided to try Taste of Maine. It was a good choice as it can stand up with the best...we ordered an app of hot crab dip which was fantastic....my baked Haddack Supreme was very... More

I stopped in at Taste of Maine purely based on the number of cars in the parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large selection of seafood options with lobster in any form that you could desire it. The staff was good and easy to work with for orders and drinks. Taste of Maine is certainly worth a... More

All I wanted when visiting Maine was to ensure I ate some lobster and at Taste of Maine I was not disappointed! Friends we were staying with took us to the restaurant for dinner and it was one of the best places I ate in my entire tour of the United States. We started by sharing a few different appetizers...
