When I spent a few days in Wiscasset, ME last month I made sure I hit up Red's for their famous Lobster roll. It's a cute little roadside stand with a red and white stripped awning right on the corner of Route 1 right before you cross the bridge. I arrived there after the lunch crowd around 2:30 pm and... Only takeout and only cash but worth the wait in line. Excellent huge lobster roll and great fish and chips. I am sure everything on the menu is good and several items for the land lovers.

This was a road side place we just stumbled upon after coming back from upstate Maine. What an absolute amazing find. It's rated time and time again as #1 Lobster Roll in Maine and I concur. The amount of lobster in each roll is huge. They also have a really cool little treat called a puff dog, which is a... More

Stooped here late last Friday pm on way up route 1 to rental cottage --we had wonderful meals of lobster roll, crab cakes and fried zucchini to start our trip off in the right way. Then after spending several days in mid-coast Maine eating excellent meals of lobster several ways we had to stop on way home down route 1--just... More

We weren't sure if they'd be open on a Sunday but they were and out of lobster rolls from 3 places, this was the best! The lobster meat was sweet and in large chunks, and served with butter quite tasty! The only thing we wished was for a bit more bread.

I'll say what everyone else is,,,,a must stop. Fresh as it gets! I like that they put the butter and mayo on the side so you can add as you wish.

Was our first day and I'm glad I waited to write this as I would have given it a three prior to trying other lobster rolls on our six days in ME and Canada. If quantity over quality is your thing, you'll probably like it. Lobster roll consisted of cold, undressed meat on a single thin piece of white toast... More

This will be short - GO! This was the best sandwich I ever had and probably ever will. The lobster roll is all lobster, served chilled in a toasted butter roll, with warm butter on the side. Go hungry, leave full. It was so good, we went back for breakfest the next day!
