My husband and I stopped here for lunch with my brother-in-law and his wife; they and my husband had the lobster roll, whilst I had the scallops (shared with my husband) and the fish & chips. The scallops and fish melted in my mouth, fresh, never frozen and beautifully cooked. My husband said that his lobster roll was the best... More

The Lobster Roll can not be beat. It's worth the scenic drive up route 1 from Portland just for the Lobster Roll. TONS of great lobster meat cooked to perfection. Oh, get the blueberry cake too. Be prepared to wait in line...it's worth the wait.

This is lobster roll at its best. Lobster meat, butter on the side. The roll is grilled and one needs a fork to eat it down a bit. Some may prefer a bit of mayo or celery salt on it, but it is your picture to paint. The service is quick, although a line forms up and the wait become... More

We stopped on our way north in the evening and were only subjected to a 15 minute wait that was totally worth it. A huge amount of lobster for a very reasonable price of $14 (more lobster and less $$ the another spot we visited). Our visit on our way back south was at lunch time and we had a... More

This place is located right on Rt. 1, next to the bridge. It's hard to miss, as you will see a long line around this road-side stand. On a Saturday afternoon in September, even at 3pm, we had to wait about 35-40 to place the order, and another 5 minutes for the food. We ordered lobster rolls, like everyone else,... More

There is a reason a long line is always outside Red's. It is worth the wait. The lobster roll is great! It is full of lobster meat. The fried mushrooms are very good too. We liked it so much we went back the next day.

Late September in the middle of the week and there was quite a line waiting when we drove past heading North during the lunch hour. On our return trip South, about five, there was only a couple ahead of us. We received our lobster rolls very quickly and extremely enjoyed them. A very large quantity of lobster meat on a... More

Can anyone have a roadside place in Maine that uses frozen french fries when there are so many places with hand cut fries? Give this place a miss and get the fries on the dock across the street. Let the suckers stand in line and block traffic.

It lived up to the hype, and then some! I saw all the traffic and the line and wondered what was so special. I sure found out! It was fantasic, and the service was every bit as good as reviewed. Debbie the owner was working the front window, and treated me like family. The lobster roll was superb, and I... More

Read all the reviews, and decided I had to do this. 90 minute wait at 3pm, but good company to talk to as we stood in line. The lobster roll is mostly lobster which is a good thing, and the butter was warm. Overall a good experience, but not THAT much better than other places on Route 1, so doubt... More
