Back To Portland, Maine For Memorial Day

Took a side trip to Red's Eats in Wiscasset, Maine to try their lobster roll. It is undoubtedly the best lobster roll in Maine. They serve you one pound of fresh cooked lobster on a New England split top, toasted and buttered roll. Try the fried zucchini.

We waited 1/2 hour in line but thelobster rolls were definitely worth the wait. You can't get lobster like this in Philly. They say they use 1 lobster per roll and I can believe it.

It was worth to queue up for lunch for 50 min. Exorbitant portion of lobster in the roll, fresh fish for fish and chips. Despite the crowd the staff was very friendly and offered refreshments and samples. This is a must!!!!!

I have had lobster rolls before but never anything like these. I know for a fact that there was more than one lobster on this roll unless there is more than one tail and more than two claws. The lobster is based on market price so it was very expensive but they were pretty sure the price would drop. They... More

Despite 55 degrees and drizzling we had to stop at Reds to try the rated #1 for lobster roll in Maine. Paid a premium since early in the season. Husband and I split one. Each had tail halved to take out of the perfectly light toasted buttered thin sliced bread and dip in melted butter cups. Then still a lot... More

You can't come to Maine and not have a lobster roll. You can't pass through Wiscasset without stopping at Red's Eats for one. You will notice this tiny take-out shack because there is always a line of people waiting to place their order. Simple, fresh seafood. No frills. Eat at picnic tables outside. Pure mid-coast Maine.

If you are looking for the best lobster roll you must try Red's. There is always a line which tells you it has to be good. Bring a huge appetite because their servings are quite large. It's a little hole in the wall place with outdoor seating. You place your order and wait for your number to be called, pick... More

Red's is an institution here in Maine. I can't tell you how many dozens of times I've driven by and not stopped because a) I was enroute to somewhere else, or b) there was a long line of people waiting to order. A friend and I stopped on the way back to the big city from Boothbay Harbor recently. Very... More

By far this is the best lobster roll I have ever had! The girl at the counter was very friendly. We ate at a table near the water. I can't wait to come back to Maine someday for another Lobster Roll.

We were here late in the season but they still had plenty of lobster on hand. The staff was friendly, took our order quickly and the lobster rolls were ready in a flash. Absolutely loved the lobster rolls. if you are in the area save room for the a big lobster roll and make sure you stop by Red's Eats.... More
