We revisited Red's on our latest trip to Maine. Our flight landed in Portland and we drove straight to Reds. The line was down to the bottom of their deck. That was about a 2 hour wait. The staff brought out water to folks and distributed umbrellas when the rain started. Amazingly, no one left the line (darn it!). We... More

If you want to eat the best lobster roll in New England head up Route 1 in Maine to Wiscasset where you will find Red's little lobster hut right by the bridge. Be prepared to wait in line (we waited over an hour last Wednesday afternoon) but you will be rewarded with a grilled hot dog roll that is overflowing... More

Someone recommended this place to me so I made a point of finding it and it was well worth it. At 4:00 on a Monday afternoon people were standing in line. Tourists and locals. It was almost more lobster than I could eat (but I did eat it all)!!! If you are anywhere close go try it. The zucchini sticks... More

You want an excellent lobster roll? search no further. But be prepared to stand in the queue to deserve the delicacy. Thank you to the waitress who distributes glasses of water while we wait in the sun. The fried clams and crab cakes are delicious too.

Red's is a hut on the main street corner known mostly for its lobster rolls. They are the best. Forget about the bun it is mostly lobster and lots of it. It is a must if you are traveling Route 1 in Maine. There is an outdoor picnic type eating area if you want to stay and eat. Red's opens... More

I honestly don't know where to begin but I will keep this short and sweet. The lobster was overcooked, chewy and cold. If you have the gall to serve lobster like this then it should be cut in smaller pieces and dressed. The so called butter tasted a little rancid or was some kind of a margarine based sauce. This... Red's never fails to prove to us why they serve the BEST lobster roll anywhere. We have had some elsewhere, but never better and most not as good. For years we by-passed this place because we felt is was a cheap hot dog place. Do not by-pass Red's, you will miss out an original. Part of the fun is speaking... More

I checked on line to see where the best lobster roll was while visiting Bar Harbour MA this past summer. Red's popped up with great reviews and many who I talked with gave it a definite thumbs up. So on one hot afternoon during our time there we made our way to Wescosset to try one. After standing in line... More

While planning my trip to Maine I read about Red's Eats and decided that it was ridiculous to stand in line for a Lobster roll however as I crossed the bridge and looked at the line fate stepped in and a parking spot appeared. So I ended up standing in line for 35 minutes (I was told that that was... More
