Wife and I were exploring and it was lunch time, saw and decided to stop. No waiting at 12:45, was very clean and no odors. Wooden floors made it a little noisy but not bad. Food had a good variety, all fresh. We had clam strips and halibut; both cooked properly.

Been here several times , always some of the freshest tastiest seafood in Maine. Great breading on the fried seafood. Nice atmosphere on the marsh just down the road from Wells Beach. Big place so plenty of seating. Sometimes they have fried oysters which are the best but its all good food here for the most part. The rolls are... More

Billy's was a nice stop after a day of riding along the coast. Definitely a busy place, not somewhere i would go to enjoy a meal and good conversation. Not overly friendly staff, but again, it is very busy so I am sure it is just because they are so rushed. Food was good, a bit pricey, but its all... More

We came back from Belgrade Lake Maine and decided to stop and get a bite to eat. The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport was not open for the season yet so we went to Billys. I was with two of my friends and not one of us had a decent meal. I do not see what all the fuss is about.... More

I have been going to Billy's Chowder House since "Billy" opened it!!! Billy had the absolute best fish chowder I have ever tasted!...those were the days!! Today, Billy's Chowder House has the best clam chowder in the area!...IF you like the thin broth chowder, as I do!...served with a few whole bellied clams, full of chopped clams and perfectly cooked... Have been a patron of Billy's since before the Varano family took it over. They have done a great job at preserving the integrity, and atmosphere of the place. The last few years I have had the great pleasure of being in the service of a lovely waitress named Miranda. God bless her. Always friendly, and always has a welcoming... More

Had a great dinner at Billy's Chowder House, our waitress Nikki was very accommodating and the new front end manager Christin was very courteous, we were seated right away. Everyone that was working at the restaurant was very kind. It is relaxing sitting, enjoying a glass of wine and watching the wildlife play in the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. It was... More

Quick review: Classic New England seafood of lobsters, fried clams and scallops, chowder. REasonable prices. Nice view of the seaside marshes. My family stopped here for a clasic seafood lunch. We had the table full of mussels, lobster rolls, lobster mac & cheese, fried scallops and clams, and chowder. They do frech fries well. All was very tasty and well-preapred,... More

We have been going to Billy's for 7 years now, and everytime the food is delicious, the staff is friendly and service is great. I have been to other restaurants around, but when it comes for a casual seafood place, Billy's tops them all. Simply put : best bang for your buck! Enjoy! François

We were visiting the area for several days. Saw the parking lot full most of the time and went on a recommedation. Won't go back. Food was not good. We ordered the clam chowder being told it was THE best. We got the chowder, it was lukewarm, not a lot flavor, potatoes were grey. It was like they were peeled... More
