Better than the average bakery that is for sure. If your a donut fan, this has to be one of your stops when you pass it in Wells, Me.
Being a local, of course we know the best places to eat, and Congdons is high on the list. Not only do they have the best donuts anywhere, but the food is excellent, too. We've eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. We went for Sunday lunch last week and had the best pot roast ever. It's... More
I heard about this place from the locals and boy were they right. I don't know what secret doughnut mix they use but I have to admit they were to die for. But the real deal is their coffee. Wow. We also had one of their local favs - moonpies - also to die for.
OMG!! Chocolate chocolate donuts are to die for. I also LOVE their glazed donuts and their apple fritters. They are the best donuts anywhere. They have good food too - I like the reuben omelette. Never seen it anywhere else.
The only place to go in Maine for Breakfast is Congdon's in Wells on Rt 1 ! You cannot beat the home made breads and of course those donuts are to die for !! My husband and I traveled 1 and 1/2 hours to have breakfast there. Do not miss out on the blueberry donut - because you will never... More

The food is always good, the service is both prompt and pleasant and the doughnuts are the best in the world, As a local (not a true Mainah), it is one of the best you will find, anywhere! We went for lunch, and were also offered the breakfast menu, making it a tough decision. I would recommend trying it for... More
OMG! I am a doughnut freak and this was an experience. They have a long-john-type donut that looks like a hot dog. Long bun-look, strip of chocolate and strip of white fluffy filling. And my eggs were great. And if you like the seafood, the lobster benedict is to die for! As I said, were this close to me at... More
Our plan was to have lunch at a favorite restaurant in Kennebunkport. We should have known better. It was a Saturday in October and the town was hopping. Parking at first eluded us. Then there was a one-hour wait at our first-choice restaurant and almost as long at second-choice. We decided to head back toward Ogunquit. It occurred to us... More
