I've passed by this place for years and never stopped until this year. Ate breakfast 2 days in a row here. THIS PLACE HAS THE BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER!! Had oatmeal one day and omelet next - very good. Topped meals off with a doughnut. I understand why this place has been around for over 60 years. You can't find doughnuts... More

Stopped by Congdon's on the recommendation of a local Mainer. The doughnuts were the lightest, fluffiest that we have ever had. Raised chocolate covered, honey dipped and apple fritters, all of which were a pure delight. The restaurant also serves a complete breakfast which we did not take advantage of, but if the doughnuts are any indication of type of... More

No frills, just a good "home cooked" b'fast with attentive staff. We live in Wells year 'round and always choose Congdon's for our b'fast out.

Ever hear someone in the car scream STOP !! Yep, that's how the day started, a heart pounding brakes screeching, tire smoking STOP !! After I was sure I hadn't run someone over or going to jail, I managed a weak "What?" I received an exuberant one word reply "Doughnuts", followed by a very passionate "Congdon's Doughnuts" !! Yes it's... More

The only reason this place isn't a Top 10 Donut in the US is because its in Wells, Maine. Their raised donuts are light and incredibly fresh. The Apple was ridiculous! My son loved the Confetti. Take a detour, and hit this place. Well worth the drive.

Bottom Line: Great donuts at a decent price. Details: Had to stop here when in the area based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Arrived around 2:30 so most of the best sellers were gone but what I did try was quite good. I'm not a donut connoisseur so I couldn't really say they were leaps and bounds better... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way out of Ogunquit. They have a walk up counter with booth seating and also a dining room with traditional seating. We opted for the booths out front, no waiting. My kids wanted croissant sandwiches, which are not on the menu. They gladly made them for us. We also wanted six honey dipped... More
