Got a baker's dozen of fresh donuts one morning & a sausage breakfast biscuit sandwich. Quality so much better than DD or McD breakfasts! Close to where we stayed.

Best blueberry fritters anywhere ... oh and try the Boston Creme (Bavarian Creme) too! Even if you're there for breakfast (get there by 8 or you wait), you MUST have a donut while you wait.

I visited Congdons this weekend with a group of twelve people and not only did they have no problem fitting us in, but everyone had a great meal and a great time. I sampled everything from the house-made hash to the thick cut bacon and the simple over easy egg. Everything was fantastic. Our server was amazing and was on... More

These are among the best donuts I've had. And I'm something of a connoisseur when it comes to independent donut shops. Seriously. This is one of those places where I can give it my highest compliment as a traveler - I'd like to stop back on the way out of town and grab a couple of different kinds.

Spent $52 for three people which we found to be expensive for breakfast. Food was good, but I've had much better for cheaper.

We go to Congdon's for doughnuts whenever we are in the area. They are the best doughnuts we have eaten anywhere. They are fresh and there are many delicious flavors. My favorite is creme filled with chocolate frosting. We used to camp not too far from there and the whole family loved the super fresh doughnuts. Now we stay at... More

My husband and I look forward to Sunday breakfast at Congdon's. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the service is always friendly. A "must destination" if you are in Wells or in the vicinity. Barbara

This is a Maine institution that gets it - it is a down to earth, real diner with crazy good donuts thrown in for good measure. I knew for years about the donuts when we lived farther north, but now that we are in the area, we needed a good breakfast before heading out and this was just the ticket.... More

If you’re anything like me, you get to this point of the winter season and a break from the daily grind is exactly what you need. And, if you can’t afford to fly to a warmer climate, just getting out of town is the next best thing. For my wife and I that meant slipping over the border into Maine.... More
