We arrived and were seated immediately (had a reservation). The artichoke tempura was so good! Our entrees, haddock and pork, were both excellent, as well as the walnut pie with home-made maple ice cream. The servers were very attentive and the food is a cut above. We will definitely return to this lovely restaurant!

Even though we have been summer residents of the Seacoast for many years, last night was our first trip to Joshua's. Why didn't we figure this out earlier! Farm to table without being pretentious about it, perfectly cooked fish (swordfish for me, salmon and shrimp for her), delicately flavored homemade ice cream, and served with the right mixture of warmth... I have dined here for several years. The restaurant is quaint, the food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the owner is present and cares. The owners grow their own vegetables, the fish is excellent and the sauces are delicious. The bread is baked on site as well. A must visit!

Everyone said the food was great. I had no idea what great meant until I had THIS food. While the portions weren't large (and I must admit to liking large portions), they were enough so you really got to take the food. If they had been any bigger, I would have been unable to to finish my meal because I... More

Our second go at Joshua's as fantastic as the first. This is top shelf dining. Weather in NYC, Boston or wherever, you'll not do better. From ambience to service to the finest in quality this restaurant does not get ***** (five stars) with over 300 reviews on this site for nothing! And when you get the bill you leave wondering... Been on vacation here in Wells for several weeks and enjoyed my experience here so much the first time I went back for seconds. The menu runs the gamut from seafood to filet, they use local, fresh ingredients, and have a killer dessert menu. The wine menu is super reasonable and the inside of the place is tastefully done. There's... More

Three week wait for prime time reservations in summer. Need I say more. One of Maine's if not the country's best. Open for dinner, uses locally grown produce. Great wine and gourmet meals. Don' miss.

The food is absolutely amazing. We come here for special occasions. While pricey, you will certainly have one of the best tasting meals of your life. The service is so-so. We have had the same waitress twice now and she was not exactly friendly. Bearable, but you could tell she wasn't exactly pleased to be serving a younger couple since... More

This is the 2nd time we've been to Joshua's to celebrate our anniversary, July 2012 and July 2014. Not too fancy that you have to dress up, great wait staff, wonderful choices on the menu - home grown vegetables and creative entrees. Don't miss the homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert - it's out of this world!

Food was outstanding! The steaks were cooked to perfection and my halibut was delicious. I enjoyed the fresh grown salad greens and vegetables from their on site garden. The basket of bread to start off the meal was heavenly.....my favorite was the rosemary infused. Didn't have dessert but I can only guess that they were equally delicious.
