If you are looking for a magnificent meal in historic surroundings, this is the place for you. Everything is top notch with service to match. I started out with the local muscles done in a light wine sauce. They melted in my mouth. For the main course, I had their signature rack of lamb. Equally as delightful. There was no... More

Joshua's continues to offer fine dining in a causal atmosphere. The level of service is outstanding, the food absolutely delicious. On our most recent visit, we had the duck which was elegantly plated and terrific, and the special haddock, also well prepared and presented. The homemade breads are outstanding (and available for purchase, if ordered in advance, we were pleased... More

This restaurant is tastefully decorated. The food is elegant and delicious. The ice cream is homemade. The vegetables are grown on their own farm. We had the pork tenderloin that was so tender and the lobster pie that was mouthwatering.

I think that reading the reviews previously posted might do a disservice to Joshua's as this restaurant (or any) might not be able to live up to the lavish praise! So walking in the door, our expectations were high. The atmosphere is so cozy and warm. The service was quick and friendly. I had what I would say is the... More

Food was divine and service was exceptional. Can't wait to plan our next Maine getaway so we can return! Menu was a little limited, but there were also specials.

I'm generally wary of American cuisine, but Joshua's is worth visiting. My MIL and I had the filet mignon; it was perfectly cooked and served with a lovely sauce. My husband enjoyed his haddock, and he says the vegetables and mushroom risotto were phenomenal. I was also impressed by the vegetables because they are not just boiled as at so... More

Greeted by the owner's mom, warmly escorted to our table in a just right dimmed dining room.... the choices were a challenge, but we enjoyed every morsal served by an outstanding server. We rarely head north, but Joshua's is worth the drive!

Everything is fresh and perfectly prepared. The menu is limited by the local access to fresh ingredients. Everything that I have ever tried has been great. Not huge portions, but everything is freshly made. Great cocktails. Cocktail specials are routinely served. Very busy so make sure that you make reservations. An extensive and moderately priced wine menu.

We were fortunate enough to be taken here whilst on a recent holiday. Well the food was sublime, the ambiance delightful and the service impeccable. I had the duck, my husband had the steak, and we were both seriously impressed. The fact that the restaurant is made up of small rooms gives the impression of very intimate dining and keeps... More
