If you are looking for a restaurant that 'does it all' to perfection Joshua's is the answer. We had the privilege of dining here FIVE times during our trip to Maine and we would have continued days after if we did not have to leave. EVERYTHING on the menu is fresh and prepared to perfection. When you eat at a... More

Mobility impaired? No problem...Drive around back and you'll find two handicapped parking places right next to an easily negotiable ramp. Joshua does it right from start to finish....delicious home made breads, fresh salads & perfectly cooked entrees like Lamb or Halibut surrounded by fresh veggies that his Mom says now comes from the Farmers Mkt. in Portland if their own... I keep saying this is a world class restaurant, which just happens to be in Wells Maine. It remains true. The food is excellent and served in smaller portions (or I would never have enough room to finish the meal). They start by explaining the three breads to you. I cheated, even though I am on a carbohydrate restricted diet.... More

Southern Maine like many seasonal vacation areas has lots of subpar restaurants in every price range. This is not one of them. The decor is charming authentic colonial New England private home and the food is fantastic every time. The quality of the ingredients and the attention given to preparation and presentation is exceptional. You know you are in a... More

Best food in Wells, locally grown, but you must make a reservation weeks in advance during the summer.

As a couple we had a recent dinner at Joshua's. I made reservations after reading all the positive reviews. I am not a nit picker but found our overall experience to be "good". The bread was delicous, as others mentioned, as was the ceaser salad dressing. I actually found my portion of swordfish to be on the small side. My... More

We have had the pleasure of dining at this treasure several times during the summer of 2014. Rack of Lamp and Duck has always been our choice. If you want to treat your palate to fine cuisine, get in there but make a reservation. They are always very busy.

We managed to snag a reservation on short notice and we're pleased beyond all expectations. The young chef is self taught according to our waitress and his father is a long time local organic gardner who supplies the majority of produce included in meals. Fantastic flavors, artful presentations and a wine list to make good pairings. Don't miss this one!

Joshua's is awesome! It's no wonder it's the number one rated restaurant in Wells, let alone Maine. It's very classy inside with an American Contemporary menu. Make sure to make a reservation, because they are usually full. They have a nice menu with a focus on seafood of course. The haddock is the best I've had. It's very flaky and... More
