Have eaten there many times. Over the last few years the quality of the food has suffered some. Still a great place for breakfast. Clean, neat and well run. My granddaughter loves to sit at the "bar" when there is room.

After vacationing in Wells for 18 years, we are now spending full summers on the beach, and the Maine Diner never disappoints. For our family, breakfast is the favorite meal. "2's are wild" wins every time for the kids, but I crave the biscuits. The restaurant is run so very well. Everything SPARKLES. Don't forget to grab a bag of... More

Visited the Maine Diner for the first time and what a breakfast! First, the assortment of items on the menu is fantastic. Our server was very friendly and informative. I got blueberry pancakes, 2 perfectly cooked eggs, bacon and toast. Delicious. My husband had the Lobster Benedict minus the hollandaise. Superb meal! Our friends ordered the codfish cakes which are... More

My husband and I had a very nice breakfast. The service was exceptional. I had the lobster quiche which was served with fresh fruit and a warm corn muffin. He tried the Corned Beef Hash eggs Benedict. We left full and satisfied. Very happy with this meal.

Four of us had the small shrimp which they are now calling "Gulf" shrimp - we had asked for MAINE shrimp, AND THESE ARE NOT! They were rubbery and tasteless - frozen. The fried coating is heavy bread crumbs and tasted bad. The same coating was on the onion rings - NO ONE liked them either. Several people were happy... More

We came here in April, which is the off season for the beach area, and the diner was still crowded. I could see why, because the food was great, the atmosphere was fun and the service was friendly. Food was a little more expensive than some of the other diners around, but worth it.

We visited Maine at the end of October 2013 and came across Maine Diner on our way to Kennebunkport. I ordered the Lobster Pie which had received rave reviews according to their menu. What a disappointment! The pie had a very thick topping of buttered bread or cracker crumbs and there was very little lobster in the pie. What lobster... More

We eat here at least once or twice a year. There is almost always a wait of five to thirty minutes but it is well worth waiting - they give you a remote buzzer so you can always go back to your car and wait. The best values that we have found are Twos are Wild and Aces High, you... More

We finally made up our mind that we would wait in line to try this diner. There is always a line because the restaurant is good and was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The wait was worth it--almost! The fried clams that I had were just great but I don't know what happened to the side of onion rings... More

Home style cooking featured here - great breakfasts were enjoyed by all 6 in our party. Service is fast and friendly. Can't miss for breakfast!
