Great Lunch...Fantastic Staff!

We stopped for a late lunch and were not disappointed. I'm always on the look out for vegetarian options. The vegetarian wrap was outstanding! Lots of fresh, hot, assorted veggies in a light sauce/dressing with cheese melted inside too. It was really yummy! Everything that was suppose to be... read more

After the stuffiness of the über-posh White Bar Inn, we needed a real meal and the stop at the Maine Diner on a snowy ride home made the trip! We got a great seat at the counter and the coffee was poured before we could even open the menu. We had the salt cod Fishcakes Benedict with a side of... More

I have to admit, I was very disappointed in The Maine Diner on a recent trip there, especially after hearing some good things about it. The wait-staff was very friendly and the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time, but the clam chowder was cold and we did witness our waitress putting some bowls of chowder in... More

This is an old fashion diner. Still has the counter seats et all. Good food for the money and very good. Expect a long line if you go in the summer.

The last time my wife and I visited Maine (early spring, 2014) we made it a point to head to The Maine Diner for breakfast and the experience was outstanding. Terrific atmosphere, friendly and professional service were both top shelf. I decided on the Myles Henry Downeast Benedict which was just wonderful! Completely unique and so very flavorful. a couple... More

I've been going to the Maine Diner for years....long before the present owners took over. The food is always good, and the service is always friendly. I try to go here in the off season since it is almost impossible to get near the place during the summer months. I love that you can order breakfast at any time, and... More

Maine Diner is a great diner. I stop here (again) on the way up and the way back from Bar Harbor. The place is always busy, but the service is quick and friendly. I always go for a counter seat and have never had to wait. The menu, especially for breakfast, is extensive. I always go for the Diner Big... More

I love Diners. And I love the Maine Diner. I've been coming to Wells and the Maine Diner for over 30 years. The food is consistently good, homey and comforting. Now that I have a gluten allergy I really appreciate the Maine Diner even more. They have gluten free bread so all the sandwiches can be made GF. On this... More
