It seem a few years back many awards had been won for the chowder, in the past Guy Fararra came by and they were featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. We'll something must have happened in the last 3-4 years because all the soups were well below par. Had the soup sampler, the clam chowder was thin and tasteless,... More

We were very, very hungry when we went there, although none of us were able to finish all of our meals! Portions are VERY oversized. Went for breakfast, was fantastic. Normal fare of pancakes, waffles, eggs, omelets etc. They serve syrup in little individual containers, not in sticky kid-hand-germ-infested bottles like some other places do. Service was fast and friendly.... More

I had been looking forward to trying out the Maine Diner as my family raved about it for years. The portions were good and the prices reasonable. However, I was extremely disappointed that most of my breakfast was cold when I got it. Cold eggs are definitely not the most appetizing of breakfasts. However the blueberry pancakes with the real... Food was just okay, lobster pie portion very small. Clam chowder little more that potato with a miniscule amount of clams it had a good taste but not up to standards for a place near a beach and fishing community. Bacon cheeseburger was okay but a little under cooked. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again.... More

While in Maine we ate here three times! The food was tasty and fresh. The portions were huge and the staff was very accommodating. This is a "must go to" restaurant when in the Wells area.

When asked what my favorite food is, I have to say it's lobster, not just any lobster, not whole lobster, or even tails, only lobster rolls, and not just any lobster rolls, Maine Diner Lobster Rolls!

This is one of don't miss spots in Maine. Everything on the menu is excellent, but lobster pie and seafood chowder are stand outs. Their homemade wild blueberry pie with their blueberry ice cream with dark chocolate chips will bring you back. Breakfast is a speciality with the best blueberry pancakes in Maine (ask for real maple syrup). On Saturday... More
