Mike's is right on US #1 in the middle of Wells, about 1.5 miles from the beach. This is a major sports pub with a massive amount of TV. It is high end fried Beach food--certainly not a shack. It's friendly and you can have dinner in the dining room or in the Pub lined with TV Screens--sometimes they have... More

Great seafood, especially if you like the all American fried stuff. They do not have much on the menu that is not cooked in butter or fried. Many restaurants are offering broiled seafood with lemon instead of lemon butter or butter, batter fried etc. This is not one of them. Our salads were mostly brown tinged iceberg lettuce without much... More

Four not five stars because it's not a "classy" restaurant--atmosphere and romance are not the points. What it does, for food and wine and beer and service is worth the trip. We've been to Mike's twice and the second visit, was, if anything, better than the first. The clams were as good as any I've ever had, the wine a... More

We had never gone to Mike's while we're up in Maine but we're craving some seafood and our usual spot was closed for the month. Their clam chowder was good and their haddock was alright. The breading was a little different but it didn't that bad, I just didn't like the texture. Our waitress was nice and the poor thing... More

We were here thanksgiving weekend and had a great time. The bar was filled with locals and the atmosphere was really fun. The wine was reasonably priced. We will be back throughout the winter!

We went to Mike's Clam Shack with a party of eleven, 2 of which were under 4. They were able to seat us all together, without waiting, and everyone found something they liked. The food & service was great!

The Christmas tree was lit. The fireplace was glowing. The waitress was very friendly. Our food was served in timely manner. My husband enjoyed his clam strips. My tuna wrap was fresh and delicious. This restaurant is casual and inviting.

Stopped here because a couple other choices in Wells were not open Thanksgiving week. The service was fine, and the food was good, but nothing special. Prices were very reasonable. Seemed like the patrons were mostly local folks and senior citizens.

My husband and son love the combo haddock and scallop plate. Portions are huge with plenty for others to take a taste. And they have a great little gift shop while you wait to be seated.

ALWAYS crowded -- ALWAYS!! The food is average restaurant food, but there is a sizeable menu to choose from, and a nice pub that frequently has live music. It's a good choice if you're new to the area and aren't sure where to go.
