expensive and very out dated

new to the area and stopped in for dinner. The inside is stuck in the 70's with some booths having pink shades, and plastic table cloths. T me this is equal to a low end diner. but prices are for a very good restaurant. The food wasn't great either.

Like others we tried this out 10 years ago during tourist season and were not pleased. Went again (10 years later) last week and had a totally different experience! Great fried clam rolls good drinks and a very friendly and efficient waitress(Denise). Even got a table side visit from the old codger from the commercials. Nice guy, (talks a bit... More

Okay, it wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. We were looking for something plain and simple, and this did fit the bill. The food and ambience were fine--totally acceptable. Just not outstanding or exceptional. Our server Ashley tried very hard to accommodate our allergies, checking to make sure the prime rib was gluten free, and returning my spouse's fish... More

We have dined frequently at the Bull and Claw for at least the past 15 years. We have seen the service go off the rails now and then. Our most recent visit, however, was the bottom. We were seated next to the salad bar and were told that our server would be with us right away. Everybody else was getting... More

Was our first time to eat at Bull n Claw but guaranteed not to be our last. We are spending two days in Wells on our trip and we can't wait to go back again tonight. Everything about the place was great. Our server Michelle was an awesome waitress, very personable and made us feel very comfortable. Salad bar is... More

Tried it here years ago and hated it! We decided to try again ! Very pleased, seafood was delicious and couldn't finish it all. Plus it wasn't over run with fries!! Service was excellent , we had a cozy booth! Prices. Average

A breakfast buffet was advertised here for Sundays, so we decided to try it out. There was an assortment of food, anything you would want, eggs, bacon, hash, home fries, sausage biscuits, pancakes, belgium waffles, french toast sticks, fruit, pastries etc etc. They will even cook you omelets. What made me happy is that many times with a buffet the... More

Saw the ad on television and decided to try the Bull and Claw, even though we love the Maine Diner directly across the street (Route One ). It was a disappointment from the start. We are not fans of salad bars, but since it came with our meals, we tried it. It was limited in selections and what was there... More

We ate here in early November after the tourist season. It was an older family style restaurant that we have visited also on a prior trip. We ordered from a menu and then visited the salad and soup bar. It's an average family restaurant with a good variety and fairly priced. Good for large group also.
