We went to the Egg and I for breakfast the first day of our vacation and liked it so much we went back each day. That is very unusual for us because we enjoy trying different places to eat. The food was good, the portions were fine, and the staff was very friendly and efficient and our food always came... More

Been here many times when in the area. Great selection of breakfast, Bob's hash is excellent. Don't let the line outside scare you away, they move fast don't rush your eating. Food is brought quickly. I don't understand the negative comments, food has always been cooked well, served quickly and great service. Considering this is a summer tourist town, service... More

My husband and I visited "The Egg and I" on Friday, October 3, 2014 for the first time. Nice place and the waitress was wonderful. Can't remember her name, a tall, thin woman with dark hair. We both ordered the "Bob's Very Special" breakfast for $10.99. It came with 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and hash. I had coffee and hubby... More

Bob's special hash was great; hash browns very good (ask to have them put onions in them) and the biscuit and gravy was very very tasty. Would go back next time we are in town. Our server was very nice and helpful and always available when we needed something.

Finally we got eggs over easy with the yolk not hard cooked. I had the double blueberry pancakes: filled with blueberries plus a warm blueberry compote on the side, whipped butter and a warm blended syrup. The coffee was good and Bob's special corned beef was really good. Service was great.

Still popular place resting on it's earlier reputation. Food is ordinary and unimaginative. Service is lethargic. Not worth the price.

The food is fantastic, inexpensive, and the staff is always courteous and upbeat. We have enjoyed it for decades, me since I was a child. You won't be disappointed.

Stopped for breakfast and was seated right away. Offered coffee - asked for iced coffee - no problem. Lovely large cup of iced coffee with milk. I wanted home made hash - Bob's hash with the eggs benedict was the only choice for me. Crunchy hash brown potatoes - unexpectedly good. Poached eggs were slightly over done, the enlish muffins... My friend and I (against our better judgement) made a stop here after hearing all the ooh's and aaahh's about "how WONDERFUL the breakfast is here!". First of all, our waiter was rather weird and on the verge of creepy, which I am sure was his schtick, but it came across as uncomfortable and strangely like a bad string of... More
