A true American Experience

The diner has been family owned since 1927. They specialize in Pies. The day of the week menu makes Thursday my favorite with pea soup, johnny cake and the ever hard to find Indian Pudding. And real whipped cream. Local Maine made ice cream! Out for a meal, anytime of day, a piece of pie and... read more

We had been wanting to try out this diner for decades, having vacationed in Maine often, but never were close enough to make it work. Finally we were in the area and made plans to go there specifically, timing it just right to enjoy what we had heard was a fabulous eating experience...and maybe it was because of all the... More

this place has been here forever food is pretty good Heard some bad things about the owner but I suppose that need not be part of this review. I'd continue to stop here. But it is a little to expensive they do get a lot of business right on hwy 1 in waldoboro. Maine.

So it's Sunday afternoon, you're on a road trip and in the market for brunch. A stop at Moody's, the classic US Route One road house diner in Waldoboro, Maine seemed like just the ticket. Perusing the enormous menu with classic favorites, fried seafood and breakfast all day presented a conundrum of epic proportions -- especially considering the prudent intent... More

Just what you would expect of a 100 year old classic roadside diner. Everything is very decent--nothing on the wow scale. Don't expect anything, leave your attitude at the front door(Maine pre-requisite) just enjoy the people, food and experiences.

The saying, "Moody's Diner - where old friends meet" is SO true! A unique history, great food, very reasonable prices, and wonderful pies! My husband loves the 4-berry pie, and I love the strawberry rhubarb! Whether you're going by yourself or you're meeting up with friends, Moody's is a great place to go. Nothing super fancy but the meals are... More

The menu wasn't all that unique or special. The meal wasn't either.. by the time seated and actually waited on and we got our food is was luke warm at best... The place is LOUD... really hard to hold a conversation... and really uncomfortable to try and enjoy a meal when there is a group standing at the door waiting... More

Moody's is famous to Mainers and outer staters. It has been around for many, many years. I have eaten here a few times. The food is diner fair and nothing soecial but the atmosphere is "ole time Maine." Many of the waitresses have worked there a very long time. Service is good. If you are going by, should stop if... The blueberry pie was okay but the strawberry rhubarb was delicious! I'd almost stop there on the way back for my own piece.

This is like having dinner at home, only better. Excellent food, great menu and reasonable prices. Down home feeling is worth the trip to this diner in mid-coast Maine.
