One of Maine's Few Remaining Iconic Diner's

Just what you would expect of a 100 year old classic roadside diner. Everything is very decent--nothing on the wow scale. Don't expect anything, leave your attitude at the front door(Maine pre-requisite) just enjoy the people, food and experiences.

The saying, "Moody's Diner - where old friends meet" is SO true! A unique history, great food, very reasonable prices, and wonderful pies! My husband loves the 4-berry pie, and I love the strawberry rhubarb! Whether you're going by yourself or you're meeting up with friends, Moody's is a great place to go. Nothing super fancy but the meals are... More

The menu wasn't all that unique or special. The meal wasn't either.. by the time seated and actually waited on and we got our food is was luke warm at best... The place is LOUD... really hard to hold a conversation... and really uncomfortable to try and enjoy a meal when there is a group standing at the door waiting... More

Moody's is famous to Mainers and outer staters. It has been around for many, many years. I have eaten here a few times. The food is diner fair and nothing soecial but the atmosphere is "ole time Maine." Many of the waitresses have worked there a very long time. Service is good. If you are going by, should stop if... The blueberry pie was okay but the strawberry rhubarb was delicious! I'd almost stop there on the way back for my own piece.

This is like having dinner at home, only better. Excellent food, great menu and reasonable prices. Down home feeling is worth the trip to this diner in mid-coast Maine.

I met a friend for lunch at Moodys for my first visit. On a weekday, it wasn't crowded. The food was wonderful--of course it is diner food, not Michelin 3-Star food. The place is clean, the service quick and pleasant. I had meatloaf, one of my favorite comfort food dishes. I can truthfully say it was the best meatloaf I... More

Our family spends in total a couple of months each year in Maine. One of my "treats" whenever we go up is at least one visit to Moody's Diner. Saturday the 29th of November, we went shopping for a live Christmas tree for our Maine residence and of course, somehow, wound up for a late lunch at Moody's. As always,... More

I traveled 200 miles to have a slice of one of their almost a dozen different homemade pies. This time it was coconut cream pie. It was lunch so I started with a bowl of haddock chowder and a toasted cheese sandwich. My wife had the three berry pie and a bowl of a delicious tomato soup. It was wonderful... More

I know this may sound like a strange review, but I have been eating at Moody's for a very long time and finally wanted to write this because of this amazing experience. I just started a very restricted diet and visited Moody's diner. They offer amazing home cooked food. I thouhgt a lot about what to ask for and then... More
