After hearing the hype on how great their pies are, we stopped in to get some dinner and pie. We ordered fish and chips, fish was frozen triangle cuts, not good. Fries were good. We ordered the Lobster Chowder which was lobster in a bowl of milk with butter in it. It did say that on the menu, but we... More

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a picky eater and enjoy a $10 diner breakfast as much as $100 fine dining experience. Moody's is obviously resting on its previous glory and seems to have bought into its own hype. The food was marginal at best. The eggs were overcooked (ordered over medium, but had almost... More

Having eaten here years ago I was excited to share this with someone who had never experienced this iconic place. We were disappointed. The food was less than average. The home made donut was tough. Cheddar wurst tasted like bologna. It was not what it had been years ago. Now it is more like a tourist trap.

You know you're in a great diner as soon as you open the door. The decor, waitstaff, tables, and counter scream DINER!!!! In the interest of true disclosure, I only had a piece of squash pie and a cup of coffee. It was good. I did look at the menu and specials on the wall. The food and prices looked very... More

We stopped in with friends after visiting a nearby church. The wait was about 30 minutes and we were seated pretty readily. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered a ham chef salad and a Reuben. Food was good. The pie - Coconut cream was good. A very cool little place to stop in and meet the locals.

First and foremost, you will not find better pie in the state of Maine. Or at least not as far as I'm aware of. While the food in Moody's is hearty diner food, the pie and fresh cinnamon rolls in the morning are what legends are made of. If you're going to the diner as a big group in the... More

A must, while traveling up route 1 in mid coast Maine! Food is outstanding home style and service is great! Their pies and woppie pies are delightful. This place is wonderful!

So we're driving south on US-1, craving a breakfast stop, when we spotted 50+ vehicles crowded around what we hoped was a restaurant. And it was! Gourmet food, no, but excellent eggs, bacon, blueberry pancakes, coffee and cinnamon rolls. A fun place to stop, obviously popular with locals and travelers. Grab a booth or stool, and enjoy!

Moody's is always a stop when we are on Rte 1 in Maine. The food is always good but we really stop because it is a tradition since the our first trips exploring Maine. I have to admit the pie has something to do with it too. The parking lot is always full and the locals frequent this dinner but... More

We stopped for lunch because the parking lot was packed. The food was good, not outstanding. It was a mostly older crowd, and the owner even announced that one couple was celebrating their 67th year of marriage, so we all sang to Ed and Janice. On our way in, someone suggested we have a piece of pie, but we were... More
