Stopped at the Portland location for a tasting. Very curious about their products. Turns out we were not fans of their wines or spirits. Which was okay, since it's a taste thing. Our big disappointment was our server. Just pouring does NOT make for a good experience. No explanation of the wines or any background whatsoever. Someone should look into... More

This was the first stop of our fall wine tour in Maine and this place far exceeded our expectations. A charismatic distillery with great tasting wines and gin. I called one day prior to alert them that we were celebrating my girlfriend's 30th birthday and they were sure to personalize our tasting and make her feel very special. A hidden... More

I try to go to Maine at least once a year and I always try to stop in here for a tasting. The last time I visited they had revamped the tasting room which now overlooks the property. A nice sampling of local fruit wines the blueberry red and cranberry smash being my favorites. As for spirits both gins were... More

Delightful stop at this out of the way farm on a beautiful fall Sunday drive. For $2.50 a tasting of your pleasure and a free take home glass a great way to turn a drive in the country into an autumn adventure. Half the fun is getting there the other half is enjoying the wide range of offerings and the... More

We thought that this winery used grapes in their wines, but this is not the case. Other fruits used throughout the distillery, and the results are very tasty wines. Also while there we purchased their award winning gin( Back River Gin) after sampling, and will be making my Martinis with this for the foreseeable future!

I think that Sweetgrass is the most interesting distillery that I have visited. They have a wide range of products from fruit wines to sweeter spirits to dry spirits. For me, the dry spirits are their strength, but all of the products I tasted were well done. The gin is wonderful. Very smooth with a complex nose. You get a... More

We sampled several of their distilled spirits, but none of the wine. The cranberry smash was the hands down favorite of the bunch. Much more tart and less sweet than any of the other cranberry-based drinks of that sort I've tried before. The apple brandy is more of a true brandy, with the strength to prove it. They also have... Very interesting to find a winery and distillery all in one. For just $2.50 per person (with take home glass) you get to try 6 items off their "menu" of offerings. You can have wine, rum, gin, vermouth. It was nice to try things I normally wouldn't have. Having never had vermouth before I really enjoyed the taste, and ended... More

This winery is on a very nice piece of land and has a beautiful view from just outside of the tasting room. The wines are a nice variety of fruit based wines and ports. Didn't try the gins, but they have been regarded as some of the best and written up in many magazines. The great surprise was the vanilla.... More

Very pretty area & drive. For $5 you get to try any 6 wines or spirits, plus the glass is yours to take. Loved the cranberry apple wine & the cranberry smash. Don't know why this place is listed under restaurants because it isn't one.
