It's not often that I write a review but I really couldn't resist this time for all the right reasons. Having decided to take a drive on Sunday and find somewhere for lunch, we stumbled across The Lazy Toad Inn. It instantly looked inviting with its wonderful Mediterranean feel exterior design and wonderful gardens. The welcome was warm and asking... More

We travel already over 30 yrs each year to Devon. Thanks to tripadvisor I found this place. Very rural but accessible via a good road. Large parking area, most inviting and friendly lay-out, both inside and outside. During nice weather it must be great to eat or have a drink outside and I can imagine how cosy it will be... More

i have eaten here quite a few times and the quality of the food has not yet failed to impress. true the portion size is modest and the prices slightly on the higher end of our budget - but the situation and proximity to a favourite circular walk (stoke cannon start and finish near the railway crossing) means that we... We went to this restaurant which is within easy driving distance from Exeter. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The food was of very high quality and the service was excellent. The name is unfortunate and may well put a few people off. It used to be called The Agricultural, which seemed a more fitting name for... More

We stayed here for two nights after friends recommendations and were not let down. Our room overlooked the courtyard and had a very good nights sleep in a sumptuous bed after a fabulous meal (I recommend the lamb, gorgeous) and a great bottle of Sharpham wine . They produce an awful lot of their food from their smallholding, which is... More

Five of us had a great meal at the Toad this Saturday. Food was genuinely delicious for us all. Wines were also excellent - Merlot like velvet and a tasty little Viognier. Thank you very much !

This is well worth a visit. Even the car park is welcoming and calming. Lovely little courtyard for sitting outside then inside Clive and all the staff are wonderful, nothing pretentious, they treat you like friends. The food is excellent. We're looking forward to our next visit.

We visited as a family and received a very warm welcome. The food was excellent, surpassing our expectations. The children's menu was also very good, with more choice than the norm. It is a beautiful rural setting and one of our favourites. Can't wait to go back!

A second visit to what has to be one of the nicest most civilized pubs. Clive and his courteous friendly team serve everything with such aplomb and the food.. OMG ... Mo's Ruby Beef Steak & Kidney pie was to quote the late Mr Winner: 'Epic' , and the exquisite trio of citrus based deserts a perfect foil to the... More

We were given a warm welcome which was the prelude to a fantastic evening. I can strongly recommend the goats cheese panna cotta and slow roast pork and I was then the only one of our group that could fit in a dessert which tells you about the size of the portions.
