Local Seafood. Homemade pies! Friendly people-easy to find! On a busy Friday night there are not many choices open late in the season here- thankfully this place was open.. tho we did have a bit of a wait- Local fish special was excellent and you could have seconds if you wished no charge.. but I was full - The pie... We had eaten lobster rolls at Red's Eats in Wiscasset, Me. The ones we had from the Harbor Cafe didn't compare. Two of them did not have to meat of one from Red's and they were not as tasty. At least the Harbor Cafe was open which is more than I can say for most of this restaurants in this... More

We ate here in the off season on a Tuesday when everything else in town was closed. We had the breakfast special, blueberry pancakes, sausage or bacon and eggs. The blueberry pancakes were quite delicious and loaded with blueberries. We also had dinner here. The syeamed mussels and crab roll were great. Side of coleslaw too small. Disappointed in the... Right across the street from a working lobster harbor and village . So the lobster is a fresh as a brief walk from the boat to the cafe .. Which is delightfully unpretentious .. But a reservation is needed and the local lobster men and women trump yours .. Its fun .. Plenty of good fish and good food and... More

We arrived on Deer Isle on a Monday night when most restaurants are closed. This was perfect for us as we weren't looking for a large dinner. This is a "local's restaurant" where there is lively conversation between the patrons and waitresses. We enjoyed listening the banter as well as the wide selection of inexpensive, but good food selections. Nice... More

dining choices in the off season in Downeast Maine are often limited, especially on Deer Isle. However, the Harbor Cafe is a very safe choice regardless of your food preferences. To be sure this is not upscale gourmet dining, but, frankly, who needs it when you're hungry and want a good meal and at an economical price. The Harbor Cafe`... More

I went here for dinner two nights in a row, while staying at Boyce's Motel just down the street. I can't say a bad thing about it. The first night I had,the fried clam dinner, with a very generous portion of tasty whole belly clams. The second night was a Friday, when they have their fish fry special-fried haddock with... More

This is the place to go if you're looking for something inexpensive and you've maybe got your kids with you. It's not a destination lunch spot but works if you're starving and just need to grab something to eat.

A local told us most of the restaurants were closed but the Harbor Cafe was open. So we went in and the sign said "please wait to be seated." So we waited and waited and waited. I was ready to leave and finally a waitress took us to our table and gave us menus. The waitress was very nice and... More
