Real, solid, yummy food at reasonable prices- it's where the locals go. Reminds me of a diner ambiance. Sweet, unfussy, can get crowded, stick to your ribs specials and delicious breakfasts! Best darn homemade corn beef hash! Open early for early bird breakfasts! My go to for breakfasts and lunch when in town!

Food was OK, nothing great. Lobster was tasty as was the fried chicken. Beans appeared to be canned and the mashed potatoes were uneatable. Pie good. Waitstaff great. Why go here, though, when the food is so much better at Fishermen's Wharf? We ate the cafe last year and the rest room is nasty; it's no better this year. Little... More

We went there twice because it's one of the few places open consistently in the off season. Lobster rolls were pretty good, "awesome halibut" was OK, creamy shrimp pasta wasn't so great. The shrimp was good, but the pasta was over cooked and there was about equal parts cream sauce to pasta. Pies were excellent as was the service. I'd... More

In a hamlet like Stonington, having a year-round restaurant is very important, and the Harbor Cafe has been year round for a very long time. Food is a little better than ordinary, which is impressive considering how remote the town of Stonington is. One special tip: try their lobster rolls. First class. And if you have special requests - mix... More

We're here for a couple of days in this quite beautiful place and following a hard walk wanted something good to eat so dropped into the Harbor Cafe which was packed for lunch. The friendly and helpful staff found us a place and we ordered the chowder with fries on the side. The food came pretty quickly and was outstandingly... More

Definitely a staple for our visits to Stonington...a great quintssential coastal Maine town with amazing character. Just a cozy and pleasant place to eat with reasonable prices and great food. We have been here in all seasons and never been disappointed. Some great daily specials and unique desserts. Enjoyed greatly and we will be back frequently.

Lunch time on Deer Island, Maine and we were ready for a good meal, we were not disappointed. With windows facing the working harbor and lots of folks eating and enjoying the moment. My fish and chips consisted of real haddock, hot fries (not greasy or too salty) and coleslaw. My wife had a special lobster roll to her satisfaction.... More

While the breakfast was average, because the omelet was cooked to where the eggs were brown (one of the cardinal sins of breakfast, in my book), the pie we took to go was SUBLIME. Maine Berry had raspberries and blueberries with a wonderful crust. The coconut cream pie was equally delicious and we won't forget either of those anytime soon.

I just ate there today. Ordered haddock which I figured would be fresh being right on the water. It smelled old and when I tried a bite, I knew right off it was old. I only saw my waitress to take my order, deliver my food, and get my check. I told her the fish tasted bad. She apologized but... More
