Fisherman's Friend was established in 1976. It has been and still is a family owned restaurant serving all the same seafood from all the same suppliers. We spent 29 years on School Street in Stonington and moved to 5 Atlantic Ave in 2005. We like to consider ourselves a family style restaurant with a large variety of meals to offer. Our price range is $8.99 to over $50 for very large Lobsters. We do have items available for the none seafood lovers and we are very kid friendly. We serve Lobster 18 different ways. We also do a large functions for anniversaries, Weddings, Receptions, Birthdays, Graduations, Reunions, Christmas Parties and any other special function you might need. If you come to Stonington be sure to stop by the Fisherman's Friend, The longest running seafood restaurant in the Area....37 years and counting.

Calm Chowder

Best and most authentic Clam Chowder that we had during our three weeks in New England. Full of whole belly clams with a thin broth. Fried clams were delicious, service was friendly and attentive.

We arrived early and had a great waitress and ordered Fish & Chips and a Cheeseburger! Service was great and the "light" dinner was very good. Great views of the working harbor. Saw some locals there eating dinner as well. Will return next year.

After a nice walk on the isle we had fresh sea food (some soup and lobster variation of the day). Friendly staff. Many local people in this restaurant - and for sure, they know where good sea food is served.

I went to Stonington and to Fisherman's Friend looking for a special seafood dinner. Fisherman's Friend had a whole page of their menu devoted to Lobster casseroles. The waitress said it would be the equivalent of a pound a half lobster. The entree arrived and it was disappointing. I ate it and was more disappointed. Hardly any lobster under the... More

The restaurant is nicely set up near the water. The decor is classic coastal Maine, nice, no frills. The beer selection is nice and varied with a mix of local brews on tap and the usual can/bottled options which made for nice selection. We had a party of 6 which they accomodated well. The food was good but multiple members... More

Very good food served in a comfortable, clean setting by a server who was professional all the way. She knew what was on her menu including details. Prices were awesome, food delicious, one of the best meals on our trip!

Had the lobster pillow which was outstanding. Good service and a nice harbor side location make this place a good choice.
