Fisherman's Friend was established in 1976. It has been and still is a family owned restaurant serving all the same seafood from all the same suppliers. We spent 29 years on School Street in Stonington and moved to 5 Atlantic Ave in 2005. We like to consider ourselves a family style restaurant with a large variety of meals to offer. Our price range is $8.99 to over $50 for very large Lobsters. We do have items available for the none seafood lovers and we are very kid friendly. We serve Lobster 18 different ways. Great shrimp Alfrado

Stopped for a Sunday lunch. Very good shrimp Alfrado, tuna melt, fish taco, and crab salad. Service was great. Bathrooms very clean and warm, after a long ferry ride.

One of the things I love about the Fisherman's Friend, year after year, is that they don't serve soft-shelled lobster (or "shedders," as they're known here)! The hard-shelled lobsters are more expensive, but you get so much more for your money. On this visit, we ordered a 1.5 pound steamed lobster, and it was possibly the best we ever had,... More

Both my husband and I had a lobster roll that was very good. We are from Maryland so we would have liked to add Old Bay Seasoning to the roll, but, other than that we were very pleased. For a small fee, the chef also agreed to prepare a plain piece of chicken for my dog (who had been hiking... More

The food was good but nothing to write home about - shrimp pasta with marinara sauce and a crab roll with onion rings - crabmeat was fresh and plentiful and onion rings were delicate and not greasy. We sat on the deck which was nice but no shade from the intense early evening sunshine. We loved the former Fisherman's Friend... More

My goal while in Maine is to have lobster everyday. First stop--this place-excellent lobster roll with big chunks of lobster in a mild (not overwhelming with mayo) sauce on a delicately toasted bun. Perfect! Couple that with the sunny day and view from the deck and I was very happy.

Our waitress appeared not happy to wait on us. We were rushed through the ordering process with little assisance and accidentally ordered something that was additional price to sides that were included. Joyless and tasteless food.

I have never had lobster ruined this bad,it but was overcooked and tough. Then locals said they are known for overlooking it.They said it is thrown in the pot and fished out when it is ordered. My wife is allergic to all fish and the pasta is also precooked and very mushy.. The service was sweet,if only the food could have... More

Once our food arrived, it was decent. We didn't ordered anything fancy, burger and fish tacos (which were very spicy). Took over an hour to get out meal, and the place was not crowed at all. The wait staff was very friendly, and the view was nice.

Decent food but nothing spectacular. Good family place. Had a nice meal that included a few lobsters and some other fish. Cute place and there was no wait to be seated. Good service.

Great food. Reasonable prices. Nice variety. We sat outside with view of harbor and had dinner. Service was excellent.
