Great lunch overlooking Stonington Maine harbor.

We stopped here for lunch several weeks ago before our mailboat ride from Stonington to Isle Au Haut for our 3 night stay. The restaurant had a great view overlooking the harbor and our server was very friendly and informative and we both had delicious lunches. I had a great fish sandwich and my... read more

Food VERY disappointing, service no better...the fisherman's platter whitefish was dried out and overcooked, the rest was really hot-dog stand quality...deep fried batter...mostly batter...the only good thing was the scallops...the waitress forgot about us once she put the food down...we sat way too long with a table of dirty dishes and had to go looking for her to get a... This is a large, casual seafood restaurant on the docks of Stonington. Big menu with great kids options. Their Mega Lobster Roll is terrific. Down it with a draft beer and toast the lobsterman coming into port. They excel at fried items - scallops, clams, onions rings. Good family meal value. While the inside is a little generic, the outdoor... More

Due for an update, but it is the only game in town and they do a good job of handling large crowds who come as tourists as well and seasonal visitors. Lobster, clams, plus standard fare make the menu acceptable and the food less than outstanding. Expensive, Lobster Roll $ 16.00 Clam Roll $ 15,00 Soup $ 7.00 bad blueberry... More

This was not the best restaurant we ate @ on our trip down the coast of Maine but it was good. They offer standard fare seafood items but I was told the "lobster pillow" was a good choice. To me it resembled a calzone but stuffed with lobster, mushrooms in a creamy sauce & baked in a pastry shell with... More

What a pleasant way to start off our stay in Stonington ! After a beautiful but long journey from Portland, a hot meal and beautiful view was most appreciated. The lobster stew hit the spot. The buffalo shrimp is certainly recommended. We love the local atmosphere and reasonable prices for excellent food. Good service also

Our go-to place when in Deer Isle, we have dined at The "Friend" several times. The staff is very friendly and gracious, we love the evening bartender who serves up great beer on tap, and the food never disappoints. They have a huge selection of lobster served up in several creative ways, and it is the sweetest, freshest lobster we... More

Fisherman's Friend is a delightful, local restaurant that has excellent food as well as friendly and warm service. This is not a fancy place but the food is wonderful. The atmosphere is full of families, festive and inviting. We loved the oysters in particular and the lobster stew was great every time!

We had dinner on the outside patio. Service was very good and definitely friendly! Two had lobsters (delicious of course, and offered a range of sizes) and others enjoyed a salad, fried chicken special and bacon cheeseburger. No complaints on the food at all, and they start you off with fresh baked cornbread that was delicious! We enjoyed the casual... More

Excellent family restaurant, on the water, good service and great lobster and crab roles. Others had Lazy Man's lobster (already picked and sautéed in butter) and they raved about it. A solid choice when in Stonington..
