Fisherman's Friend was established in 1976. It has been and still is a family owned restaurant serving all the same seafood from all the same suppliers. We spent 29 years on School Street in Stonington and moved to 5 Atlantic Ave in 2005. We like to consider ourselves a family style restaurant with a large variety of meals to offer. Our price range is $8.99 to over $50 for very large Lobsters. We do have items available for the none seafood lovers and we are very kid friendly. We serve Lobster 18 different ways. We also do a large functions for anniversaries, Weddings, Receptions, Birthdays, Graduations, Reunions, Christmas Parties and any other special function you might need. A very good restaurant in a slightly ouit of the way town

We have eaten here several times before and again were not disappointed . The lobster stew was excellent and the crab and Swiss sandwich was wonderful. Same for the onion rings. Only slight disappointment was the chocolate pie-too long in the refrigerator and no topping at all. The restaurant was... read more

We'd been here once before a year or two ago and it was "OK," but noting special. We're back in Stonington, at Billings, while work is being done on our boat. We've eaten here 4 or 5 times in the past week -- steamed lobster, lobster stew, lobster roll, haddock sandwich, blueberry pie...all superb. The lobster stew has nothing in... More

This is a good restaurant but Friday is a fish fry! The fish fry reduced price special is fresh haddock. It is all you can eat but the first helping is very generous including corn bread, cold slaw or vegetable, and potato. And, you might as well go ahead and have the French fries...they are great. The view of the... More

We got a fisherman's combo (delicious, but baked potato dry), Mediterranean lobster (awesome, pasta cooked perfectly and veg very fresh) and a Cesar salad with lobster (pretty good). Service was very friendly. Would return for sure.

This was a nice, clean large restaurant with friendly service. We enjoyed the mega lobster rolls, coleslaw & chowder. Huge portions! THEN we returned for dinner. Steamed lobsters & seafood pesto over linguine. Delicious.

Lobster may be the quintessential Maine experience, but great fried clams are even more difficult to find. Happily, the version served here is excellent with light, non greasy breading and whole, sweet clams with a great taste of the sea. We were here before the start of the official season, so service needed, well, seasoning, and I have no doubt... More

Friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices, nice 'but not necessarily outstanding' view of the harbor, quiet atmosphere. . . my kind of restaurant !

Delicious fish taco and fried shrimp. Taco had some "bite" and nice combination of flavor and texture. Shrimp were definitely local: small and sweet. Onion rings definitely made from scratch, not delivered by the Sysco truck. Wait staff very friendly and sensitive to timely service.

On our most recent visit, our first of the spring season we were excited to find FF open for the season. As usual we were not disappointed in the freshness and preparation of our fish. We had haibut and a seafood platter that were stupendous!

I ordered the haddock/shrimp combo. Both shrimp and haddock were previously frozen. They were very tasty, but not worth the $25, which would've been reasonable for fresh product. Also many of the shrimp didn't have the vein removed. Tasty, just priced too high for the quality of what I got.
