Friday night in Feb was just so-so

Only place in SW Harbor we could find that was open. Food was good, but not superb. I ordered chicken marsala, and it was chicken tips (not breast) with a sauce over it. Not what I expected. I found the risotto too heavy. House green salad was very good. Praline cheesecake for dessert was so... read more

We have been dining at Sips, on the same Saturday in January every year for several years. We enjoy the atmosphere, drinks and unique menu. The Island Salad with spinach, eggs, oranges, raisins, etc. is outstanding. Many of the main dishes are served without protein with the option to add your choice of chicken, scallops or shrimp. The desserts are... More

My husband and I visited Southwest Harbor for Thanksgiving week, and became aware of how limited the restaurant selection was with so many shut down for the season. We trekked off to Bar Harbor the first few nights, then on a drive, found out Sips would be open that night so made a reservation. It was snowing, so very glad... More

We stumbled across this cosy, fun, local restaurant by accident, with an excellent wine list, menu, superb food, ambience and absolutely wonderful wait staff. Overall excellent value, and my husband deemed their $4 soup appetizer the best bargain in Acadia national park.

My wife and I recently vacationed in Maine and spent 4 wonderful days in Southwest Harbor. Believe it or not, we dined at Sips 3 out of the 4 nights we were there because 1: the food was yummy, 2: the wine list was excellent, and 3: the service (Renee is the best!) was outstanding. I highly recommend Sips if... More

I thought the place had a funny smell, but my husband didn't notice. They had a nice variety, but the food itself was just ok...nothing special. We will definitely go back to the Acadia area for another visit someday, but we'll probably skip this place.

Went to Sips twice...the first time was for dinner. I had the clam chowder and it was great!! The second time was for breakfast. I ordered the bloody mary which I expected was going to be different because it had pepperdau in the title. Whoa no good!! Too sweet. $10 down the drain! The service was soo bad. I ordered... More

We liked Sips Breakfast so much that we went there three days in a row. The coffee was excellent, the food was great, but above everything the service was spectacular. I'm in a service industry myself, and Iam a sucker for good service. They were quik, and friendlyWe had mushroom omletes, crepes, and eggs over easy. Everything was good.

We spent 3 out of 4 nights of our trip to SW Harbor dining at this amazing place. The food is above and beyond what other places in the area are serving with some very eclectic choices. We loved it!

The live music Wednesday evenings with dinner was very enjoyable. We ate here 2 weeks ago while staying nearby for the Night Sky Festival and had a wonderful evening - service good, food very good and reasonably priced, and wine inexpensive by the glass. The music was not too loud and a sense of intimacy retained. We also came for... More
