Best service!

I was surprised by the facade. Entered the dining area and it was quite an elegant establishment. The meal was very good, and reasonably priced. But the entire staff from hostess to bus boys were just awesome. Without a doubt the best service we experienced over our week on the island.

The hostess and servers were very sweet and the pacing of the meal was fine. The food was mixed. We had excellent cod fritters and the homemade bread had a nice crispy crust and was served with tasty olive oil. My son's caprese salad was bland and $13. I was a little shocked by that. I had a Maine sole... More

We live here on "The Island" and eat at Fiddlers quite often in the summer. Just wanted to let other diners that may be visiting know that a trip to Fiddlers should be on your "to do list". Staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and are out to make sure you enjoy your dining experience. Derek has a handful of... More

Charming restaurant with locally sourced meals and wonderful vegan options always on the menu. Nice craft beer selection - Allagash Saison on tap was a pleasant surprise.

Fiddler's Green is a cross between a fine dining experience and an 28 seater in the Mission District of San Francisco. Derek blends the nuance of spice into the local findings. His squash bisque was so good, I ordered a quart to go. Balanced tastes and texture with just to right touch of heat to brighten the warmth. He changes... More

We found the best restaurants in/near Acadia park were in southwest harbor (see my review of Sips). We ate in the bar, which is warmer and cozier than the restaurant and porch especially if there is a big group dining, as there was the night we were there. Excellent super-fresh fish, but also meat dishes and desserts. Good wine list.... More

We had dinner there last night on the recommendation of a park ranger at Acadia National Park. Good call. The food is super fresh, locally sourced and not your usual New England chowdah and a bug (lobster). I had the house specialty, roast pork, which is cooked for 18 hours. It was super tender and flavorful, served with fall vegetables... More

We'd been recommended this restaurant and our party of four dined there a few days ago. We had been to a sensational local restaurant the night before and were disappointed with the service at Fiddlers Green, apart from the hostess who was very professional and lovely. The food was disappointing and served in a completely charmless way, tired décor too.... More

If you stay in Bar Harbor a visit here will get you over to the "quiet side" in a half hour and out of the crowds. We went at opening at 5:30 and walked right in as Fiddler's quickly filled up. Staff is friendly and efficient and the rooms are spacious with windows across two sides. I had whole lobster... More

First, Fiddlers' Green is not in bustling Bar Harbor, but Southwest Harbor, otherwise called "The Quietside". Love that! The very full parking lot was a clue that we were about to enjoy something special. And it was. We had a short wait for a table, but it was made pleasant by the warm, welcoming hostess. Once seated, we had a... More
