We found Common Good because we were afraid of finding a parking spot and fighting the crowd at Jordan Pond to enjoy a popover treat. We fell in love with the description of Common Good and wanted to try their popovers. Boy, were we delighted! They serve popovers, butter, blueberry jam, strawberry jam, cinnamon butter, walnut butter, coffee, hot chocolate,... More

I was happy to stop by CG Kitchen Cafe. Quite campy, plenty of tables and hot popovers just keep on coming. Oatmeal was okay, but what do you expect. Milk, OJ, hot tea and good coffee. Everyone is on the honor system in that you pay through a donation. Wifi worked well, which was also a draw as connectivity is... More

I have never had a popover before so I really cannot judge by others but I LOVED this one! The butter and homemade blueberry jelly were sooo good! I loved the community aspect of this. The lady packed me up one to go and I wish I would have eaten it there so I could have had more!

Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the park, common good serves a delicious breakfast with juice and coffee for donations that help the local community (https://vimeo.com/72084641). The best part are are famous fresh popovers brought out regularly all day long. The map is wrong for this place. it is several driveways down from where it is shown here. It... More

WOW! This place will get our rave reviews for their fantastic popovers and jams as well as their social conscience Read about them. They provide one of the most necessary social support networks I have heard of on the Coast of Maine. When we vacation there, we enjoy the wonderfulness of the place and the people. When we all go... Common Good is run by Larry and Laurie and all their extraordinary volunteers. During the summer months they serve popovers, oatmeal and tea & coffee. The popovers were scrumptious. A volunteer brought them out for me – hot and fresh. My husband and I also ate dinner during the Night Sky Festival as we attended Astronomy 101 Exploring the Night... More

MDI is a magical island to visit during the summer months...hoards of tourists, lots of seasonal work. But I can imagine how hard things must be during the winter months. Common Good serves two purposes. First and foremost, they feed the elderly and economically stressed residents of MDI. To do so, they raise money by serving delicious popovers, oatmeal and... More

It's a soup kitchen that serves an excellent breakfast to tourists in the summer to fund all their winter activities. Come in, stuff yourself on the oatmeal bar, coffee, tea, & juice, (& wifi since there's no cell reception) and of course their signature fresh hot popovers. (amazing) likely as not you'll be treated to live music too. All this... More

We stopped by here after biking by and seeing the "popovers, 7:30 to 11:30" sign outside. Delicious popovers with butter and jam, and nice view over the seawall in Manset. Everything is free, and then people donate, and they use the money to sponsor a soup kitchen and community meals in the winter. Very friendly people -- loved being there.

...and more importantly you can actually do something to give back to an area that offered you such a beautiful vacation. In the summer this place serves up excellent popovers (best in the park area), fresh and local wild blueberry and strawberry jam, good coffee, juice, oatmeal with lots of fixings, and friendly company. The folks who volunteer and run... More
