Grumpy is a great cook

Grumpy's has local "color". Very friendly when asked questions about the area. Went to breakfast there twice in a five day stay in Southwest Harbor. The corned beef hash and blueberry pancakes are excellent examples of local recipes.

We stumbled on this place with our puppy walking. Had not had coffee yet and the sign said dogs welcome. They had their own sweet dog wondering gently and our pup loved him. We had just coffee and the staff were wonderful. They had a large group seated and were short staffed. We found it charming how they handled the... More

I love this spot! Right on the dock, you can smell the baked goods as you walk down the ramp! The baked items are really great especially the pies and banana bread. Friendly service too

We had a surprisingly good breakfast here. They were short staffed but everyone was mostly cheerful and we got our food in good time. We were sad that there were no gluten free bread options but the omlets were yummy and the tea and coffee very good. Best of all was the feeling of being so close to the harbor... More

Sorry to say it was overpriced and the food was nothing special. I call this a tourist trap. I say this is with some trepidation as I don't want to offend anyone, but it's just my opinion.

My husband and I had breakfast here our first morning in Southwest Harbor. It was Labor Day weekend. Staffing was short, but they did a great job covering! The omelet was a bit oily, coffee was good and the raisin toast was great.

Our boat was at the marina and we were regular costumers for the week. The whole family enjoyed the food. All of the omelettes were fantastic and the eggs Benedict was great. The kids loves the chocked chip pancakes. The corned beef hash is some of the best we ever had. The wait is completely worth it. I recommend trying... More

I have had multiple breakfasts here and have yet to be yelled at! The food is substantial & fresh and the views of the Southwest harbor are some of the best. Watch out for invading seagulls.

I think the place has earned it's fame as it has it's own particular charm. We went for breakfast as we heard it was famous. It was good. We may not go back, but we are happy we tried it.
