This place is not as great as everyone leads you to believe. At 4pm the place was empty. However, since we needed a high chair, we were sat in a room in the back. The appetizer combo we ordered was so so. The buffalo chicken tenders left a lot to be desired. The breading seemed to be falling off the... More

I quite enjoyed the meal here. The service with Dylan was excellent (some in our party can be difficult) and we were impressed with the amount of seafood we received over the amount of fillers (fries). The decor was typical, but not offensive. The prices were a little steep, but we were all very full after the meal and could... More

Stopped in to get a late afternoon bite and we were well taken care of. Fast service and wonderful food. We had the lighter portion of haddock nuggets with onion rings and chicken bites with onion rings. Delicious!! We were headed to an appointment and the server brought us to-go cups so we could take our beverages with us. So... More

I noticed the "Best Seafood Restaurant in Portland" (17 years running) plaques on the wall as we left and thought, is that really the best Portland has to offer?! The service was OK, not great. The atmosphere was meh. Décor typical chain seafood and kind of dark and dingy (gray carpet on the floor that showed every bit of food... More

Recently, we returned to a place that has served us many fine meals over the years, and found it as good as ever in purveying well-prepared New England-style seafood at reasonable prices. We had the 1-lb lobster dinner, which was accompanied by a choice of potato or onion rings (worthy of note here for their light, tempura-like batter and delicate... More

Came here with family. It was a beautiful Saturday and this place practically empty at lunch time! I got a lobster roll, which was good. My Fiance' got Salmon, which he enjoyed. Mom got a haddock sandwich, which she enjoyed. Great portions. Bottomless soda. Decent place for lunch.

We had dinner at this restaurant, because we remembered we had really reasonable lobster from them several years ago. Lobster was not in season, so not as reasonable. But, we still have very good seafood and a very good price. My husbband mixed seafood dish had friend scallops, fried haddock, fried shrimps, and fried clams, plus cole slaw and fries... More

The Weathervane is a small chain fried seafood restaurant and is just fine for what it is. Better fried seafood is available locally but the location here near the mall makes the Weathervane convenient if not anything more.

We were on a group tour and this restaurant was included on our itinerary. I had a fried shrimp and haddock combination and it was plentiful and very tasty. My husband had the lobster roll and it was OK - not the best tasting - their cole slaw was excellent and they have a friendly atmosphere - staff was attentive... More

My wife and I ate here during our first night in Maine. We were really hungry and just looking for a seafood place to eat. Most of the menu items were under the heading "fried." We were looking for something more fresh, and less greasy. This was more of a red lobster ripoff not done well.
